Universe
A New Tomorrow
Today, there are many mixes between musical genres that are done to improve things and, maybe, to be different from other musical works that are released every single day. This fact denotes a search for identity, to a music that can be like what BLACK SABBATH, JUDAS PRIEST, MOTORHEAD and others did to become known (and successful). And A NEW TOMORROW seems to try something in this way, as can be heard on their latest album, "Universe".
They could be called a traditional Heavy Metal band with traces from Prog Metal (due the good technical work on the musical instruments), Glam Metal (due the easy melodies and hooking choruses) and from modern Metal/Rock tendencies (due the tunes used on the instruments). So it's a wild and savage form of music, done with a good technical approach, filled with energy and good melodies, and always refreshing and really good. In few words: this is a very good album to hear and enjoy, like a blend between METALLICA from "Black Album" age with FOO FIGHTERS.
On the sound production, the English quartet really received a great work: all sounds clean, loud and with the right balance between theses aspects with the rough filthy touch that a Rock album must bear. And the choice of modern instrumental tunes (not as greasy as such choice usually is) was perfect for the band. So it's loud, clean and aggressive to the bones.
Best songs of "Universe"? Well, maybe the melodic strength of "I Wanna Live" (very good chorus and vocals), the abrasive tempos of "A Million Stars" (what means that bass guitar and drums are doing a very good work) and of "Golden Sands" (this one has a tender introspective outfit), the frantic set of melodies heard on "Ignition", the impact of "Mountains" (very good melodic guitar riffs), and the energetic output on "Multitude of Nothing" can fit on such category. But the entire album is very good.
Well, "Universe" is really a very good release, and A NEW TOMORROW is a talented band that can become great. Their musical work is really great!
