We have gathered at the Gagarin club for the release show of the debut album "Sway For A Better Day" by SINTAX. The album has been released for two weeks already with two singles from it pre released on YouTube, "Four More Years" with a video clip and the title song "Sway For A Better Day" with a lyric video. To SYNTAX joined the bands MECHANIGOD and SINNERY for support.

First on stage, SINNERY started playing. SINNERY are young and energetic. They play Thrash Metal and they do it pretty well. The bass guitar was somewhat louder than usual in metal shows, a good thing in my opinion. And it is so with a reason. They have a good bassist playing fingers, no pick and also add here and there backing vocals. Their show was quite energetic, nice songs, two parts were really good in the middle of the show – there was a bass solo part followed by a really powerful riff and as well after the solo guitar part came a real energetic part. The sound wasn't amazing and guitars were too low on volume. I'd say there is more than one reason for this. First, it is possible the sound guy wasn't giving his best for them to make the main band sound bigger (as they are also the ones paying him). Second, the many personnel changes on second guitar due to inability of their second guitar player to make the show because of military issues. Third, a proper stage balance. When I came closer to the stage to hear the stage sound, guitars still were too low.

Second on stage came MECHANIGOD. MECHANIGOD are less my cup of tea but you can see they are a lot more experienced. Sharper sound, they also use playbacks for intros which adds atmosphere but sometimes too much for me, I like things more live. Their music is more modern and groovy. As players they know their shit. Precise playing with a cool polyryhthmic part in one of the songs. As the previous band, all of them wear short hair, a really big down point for me.

Finally, SINTAX took the stage. The first thing to catch your attention is that SINTAX just look Metal without trying or any special effort. They started with ear-blowing guitar feedbacks and the moment they started to play it was obvious they are very experienced. They dominate the stage and simply made of the stuff that makes you headbang. Both vocalist Yehi and guitarist Lemmy Keller are Thrash Metal veterans and you can hear it in the music. But that's not the only thing there is in there. They have a mix of old and new. Thrash metal and some groove. Without notice they got to the second song, a very good song with a simple yet powerful guitar lead. Oh yea… finally some long hair on stage. The crowd was a lot thicker on their show and also some pogo circles were happening. The song with the returning phrase "most hated man in the human race" if I heard right brought a vicious mosh pit with it. They played a new song and then their very first song, starting with a powerful marching snare. A great show all in all. I will definitely go see them again.
