Another nice, new force to the live line-up is the beautiful Miss Elyze Ryd from AMARANTHE, who handled all the feminine vocals lines brilliantly and also looked terrific, my god this chick is a future Star for sure. The band sounds very tight & even more solid than before. The guitars were stronger and I don't know why, but the music seems more rational or concrete. The track listing was faultless. The new songs like "Veritas" and "Sacrimony" were more than convincing.
The end of the show was traditionally announced by the famous Headbangers favorite "March Of Mephisto". The surprise was that the harsh vocals section were provided by Mr. Paul Zinay from the opening band from Montreal BLACKGUARD. They had played very early, so most of the crowd didn't see their show. It was ok, a strange mix between Symphonic Metal & Black Metal with a deathly vocalist. But what I liked the most was their dedication their motivation and their will to act fiercely. In fact it was exact opposite to XANDRIA that was more than dull and lame. A bad NIGHTWISH clone. As I don't like to shoot the ambulance I will stop now my comments about them, but I don't understand how on earth a band could have this kind of passive attitude tainted of disdain. The other band on the bill was TRIOSPHERE: a quite regular Power Metal band from Norway with a very average female vocalist. Too bad because the riffs were cool and I like their studio album, but on the stage it's a weakened act without mercy.
Back to KAMELOT now, the audience seems very seduced by Karevik, welcomed several time the new singer and was truly kind with him and even offered a nice "happy birthday" as a celebration gift. While the group and the road crew enjoyed some Champagne. If you are aware of the coming of KAMELOT near you, please don't miss this new incarnation of this now very influential band. The future is bright for them even if the music gets more and more dark.
