GOOD FOXY, who open the show, play really well, and have a stage presence that would put most mainstream Rock acts to shame. They're music has a really cool, Classic Rock feel to it, and they exude an energy that is hard to top. They do a great job of warming the crowd up and go down incredibly well with everyone who's managed to make it down this early.
IRONRAT, with their thick, sludgy Doom, quickly follow, and play an intense set filled with infectious, Groove-laden music. They have a strong, powerful presence and their music is equally powerful to match. They command the stage with confidence and ease, and a high bar for the final four acts on the bill to attempt to surpass.
FIREBLADE play a really solid set. The band haven't toured for a while, but you wouldn't have guessed it from the ease with which they command the stage with their ferocious brand of Blackened Death Metal. Their music is powerful, aggressive and Thrashy; essentially everything you could want from a Blackened Death Metal act.
WORLD CHAOS hit the stage after a quick change over to perform a great set. Their ferocious Groove Metal sound great and the energy that they put across in their stage presence is reflected in the audience, who give a fittingly lively response. By the time that their set comes to an end, it's safe to say that they've created a good climactic moment to this show, and have gotten everyone ready for the final bands on the bill.
RISING SUN play really very well despite a shortened set. They've got the sort of weighty Hard Rock riffs and natural swagger that belies a potential for great things from this band. They go down really well with the audience, and get a great response from the first note to the last.
CROWN OF CEREBELLUM finally hit the stage, and exude a confidence and style onstage that really shows. Their brand of thick, powerful Rock goes down incredibly well, and they do a great job of providing a great end to a great evening. Its a set that ebbs and flows pretty well; the band goes for a heavier, more speed-driven sound when it is required, and work in softer and more mellow tracks into the set when the mood calls for it. It's a great way to close an awesome night of live music.
As far as live shows go, this is one of the most varied you'll be likely to find, with the music ranging from aggressive Blackened Death Metal to much more relaxed slabs of Hard Rock and Stoner Metal. All of the bands on the bill are some of the best examples of what the underground scene in Leeds has to offer, and illustrates the vast difference in sound within the scene. The music was great, the sound was great, and the atmosphere was, as it always is at the Fenton, hard to top.
