The 5th November is always a memorable date for fireworks and bonfires but this time it is so for a much bigger reason. Legendary UK Gothic Metal band CRADLE OF FILTH headline Church in Leeds tonight to a sold-out crowd, with support from Heavy Metallers SAVAGE MESSIAH who are bringing the riffs to Leeds.

Before the doors open the fans are queuing around the block…with many "Jesus is a cunt" t-shirts being worn.

First on are SAVAGE MESSIAH, who bring a unique mix of Thrash Metal combined with an old school heavy style to Leeds.

The crowd is mostly Goths in New Rocks (boots) but the band are pulling out all the stops to get them involved and have a listen.

Vocalist Dave Silver is the Rock star, stealing the show but still remaining humble towards those singing to every word in the crowd, smiling back to every one of them.

SAVAGE MESSIAH played a set list full of heavy riffs to please any kind of Metal fan, with stand out songs such as "Hand Of Fate" really gaining the band some new fans.

Finally entering onto the church platform is the band we've all been eagerly awaiting, CRADLE OF FILTH.

With a stained glass backdrop and a packed out congregation in Leeds, CRADLE OF FILTH pounce onto the stage opening with "Gilded Cunt" (from their classic album "Nymphetamine") and have the venue breaking their necks from headbanging.

Vocalist DANI FILTH never ages himself but his vocals are certainly improving with every year. Since the bands last tour in the UK it seems they have really tightened their live performances; which have decayed in the past but are now coming alive again.

Keyboardist/Vocalist Lindsey Schoolcraft may be at the back of the stage but really knows how to bring her many talents to the forefront. Her vocals haunt the church and bring a real spark to the show. Tracks from new album "Cryptomania – The Seductiveness of Decay" (which came out over a month ago) are going down very well with the crowd, with "Heartbreak and Séance" being the most popular. Yet it's hits such as "Blackest Magick In Practise", "The Death Of Love" and the big crowd sing-along of "Nymphetamine (Fix)" that makes the gig go out with a bang.

It's easy to say that this Leeds show is a definite highlight of CRADLE OF FILTH's career, for not many can say they played a church on a night where fires are so common. Lets hope they bring the same excitement to the rest of the tour.
