This last Wednesday October, 9th will enter in history as sacred day, the day that the Fathers of Metal descended upon the city of Porto Alegre and delivered one of the best shows in this city's history.

The show was held at Fiergs, a center specialized in events that previously held at the same spot the Lady Gaga concert, but don't worry they cleaned the place twice to get rid of the filth of her presence to be worthy of the creators of Heavy Metal. This place is located 30 minutes from the downtown area but this day it took me 1h30min to get there due to the heavy traffic of Metalheads gathering in their masses just like witches at black masses. On the next day I would learn that the city literally stopped with the quantity of people going to the concert, something that have never happened before not in a normal soccer day nor at the aforementioned Pop garbage show.

Due to the delay I unfortunately missed the opening act HIBRIA, one of the greats to come out of Brazil's current Metal scene. I only managed to catch MEGADETH's show which was something quite unimpressive, I wasn't expecting much from them and they didn't disappoint me. I think Dave finally caught up to METALLICA's current level of mediocrity and have become a joke as well.

But let's talk about what really matters: BLACK fucking SABBATH!!! They started their set with "War Pigs", when I saw Ozzy a few years back they played this song, but let me say it was nothing compared to today's, there is nothing like singing along to the true band or at least a good part of it. They followed this with several other classics "Into the Void", "Under the Sun" "Snowblind", "N.I.B." and last but not least the song that started it all, words can't describe what transpired that night, to witness the creators of the greatest form of music that exists surrounded by your brothers, all singing along and throwing horns into the air, it was a great night but in the end a sad thought crept into my mind, this would be the last time I, or anyone really, would experience them.

I left there feeling exhausted, with no voice and my neck stiff and hurting… it was a perfect night.

P.S.: I must say two final things, it took me and several Metalheads hours to get a cab or some form of public transportation even though there were several that were empty none of them were working or at least weren't working for us… and finally  as I left Fiergs to go home I saw several cops standing nearby, some on horses and some on foot bearing arms including shotguns, at first that didn't bother me, since I had read in the newspaper that extra security would be provided to ensure safety, but then I couldn't help asking myself: "whose safety were they in charge of ensuring?"
