Independent hip-hop powerhouse TECH N9NE will drop his highly-anticipated new album, Special Effects, on May 4[sup]th[/sup] via Strange Music. Today, TECH N9NE unleashes the metallic side of his persona with the brand new anthem, entitled "Wither", featuring none other than Corey Taylor, powerhouse vocalist of Platinum and Gold chart-topping heavy metal groups SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR.

Corey Taylor has often publicly praised Tech and his approach to both hip-hop and heavy music. "Working with Tech was a no-brainer," states Taylor. "When I heard the music for 'Wither', I knew the two of us would make something dark and crazy. The slow burn in the music is awesome- his band is great and the performance is incredible. People are gonna shit!"

TECH N9NE is no stranger to the music of SLIPKNOT, having been a dedicated fan for over a decade. "This collaboration is a total dream come true, because I've been a Maggot (what SLIPKNOT affectionately calls their fans) since '99. This song we did together is such a dynamic rollercoaster ride! It starts off calm and cool and then fuckin' gets loud and extremely mean and crazy! It's perfect!"

The release of this track not only anticipates the release of Special Effects, but Tech's upcoming performance at heavy rock and metal festival Rock On The Range on Sunday, May 17[sup]th[/sup] in Columbus, OH at MAPFRE Stadium. This follows Tech's other recent rock festival performances at SLIPKNOT's very own KNOTFEST and Monster Energy's Aftershock Festival, solidifying Tech as a crossover artist to contend with.

Aside from "Wither", Special Effects has birthed buzzing singles "Aw Yeah (interVENTion)," "Dyin' Flyin'," "Hood Go Crazy," (feat. 2 Chainz and B.o.B.), and most recently, "Speedom" featuring arguably one of the world's most famous rappers, Eminem.

TECH N9NE is currently touring on his Special Effects Tour 2015, which wraps up in Wichita on June 3. The tour also features indie-rap mainstay Chris Webby, along with label mates Krizz Kaliko and MURS, Flint, Michigan metal band King 810 and Jamaican rap-phenom ZUSE. The Special Effects album and tour arrive after a banner 2014 for Tech N9ne. In May, he released his Strangeulation collabos album, which debuted as the #1 independent, #1 rap and #5 overall album in the country on The Billboard Top 200.

TECH N9NE's "Fragile" single, which also featured Kendrick Lamar, ¡Mayday! and Kendall Morgan, was Tech's biggest radio hit to date, peaking at #11 on the Rhythmic radio chart. The cut's success led to Tech performing the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in June.

As Strangeulation and "Fragile" ruled the charts and radio, respectively, TECH N9NE was traversing the United States and Canada in 2014, headlining three tours. The Independent Grind Tour featured Freddie Gibbs, Jarren Benton and Psych Ward Druggies, while his Tech N9ne's Band Of Psychos Tour paired TECH N9NE with a live band for the first time in his career. TECH N9NE also went north of the border for the 2014 Strangeulation Canadian Tour.
