Vancouver metal group Seer have released a cover of Soundgarden's Room A Thousand Years Wide. The single is a tribute to the late Chris Cornell, releasing three years to the day after the legendary vocalist's passing.

"We had intended to record the track since the beginning of the band, years before Cornell left us. Soundgarden is one of our biggest influences. Even through our stylistic shapeshifting from album to album, we've pulled inspiration from their music. We grew up in the 90s, our foundations were laid in that era. It was a generation of iconic voices, and every time one of those voices leaves us, that era passes a little more into memory. It always hurts when your heroes die, but Chris' death might hurt the most." - Kyle Tavares

Since forming in late 2014, Seer has released two full length albums and three EPs. Their most recent single was 2019's Children of the Dying Light, released through the Adult Swim singles program. With time off shows during the COVID-19 pandemic, Seer has spent their time writing for their next record, expected early 2021 through Artoffact Records.
