Rear Naked Choke was formed in 2009 in Abilene, Texas. Though it all started when a few friends got together to just jam and have a little fun, it soon became obvious that there was something special going on. It didn't take long for the ideas to start flowing and songs began taking form. After a few member re-shuffles the band solidified and things really started to move forward.

Through their own brand of Heavy Rock n Roll and high energy live performances, Rear Naked Choke began gaining notice on the local music scene. That attention has gotten them the opportunities to play with National and Regional bands such as Nothing More, Saliva, Tantric, The Devil You Know, Texas Hippy Coalition, Messer and more.

Rear Naked Choke have their own style and sound and certainly don't attempt to emulate or fit into any particular mold. Having said that, fans of music in the vein of Metallica, Clutch, Godsmack, Pantera, Five Finger Death Punch, Down etc! will likely enjoy the music of this great upcoming US band.
