Promotion: BIOHAZARD ' Live In Israel - 2.8.2014 / By Gilad Luria Givon

Like a fist in the face, a drop into the depths of the thick skin of the hardcore nation, ferocity and total lack to tolerance for the lies spread from the uptown governance to the public are the name of the game. It is never easy to accept a certain truth, but when it hits you in the face, so direct, angry, provocative and hellishly surprising, maybe it is not too late to face it, to be a witness to its horrors and despair, to face the music. Perhaps this is what the Israeli Metal scene needs in this particular point in time or perhaps just lashes out their anger against the debauchery and deceit spread through venom by onlookers not welcoming their right to be secured, their right to stay alive. I guess that the American BIOHAZARD, even though without the dominant past Jewish connection in the image of the bass player / frontman, Evan Seinfeld, fit that Israeli scenery right in. But hey Mr. Danny Schuler is still going on strong.
The New Yorkers BIOHAZARD is a trademark of Hardcore / Punk / Heavy Metal fusion, they were there in the age of crossover of the late 80's, right when Hardcore came back to recognition alongside Thrash. Their music is aggressive, with powerful guitar riffs and accompanying energetic destructive drumming. Their lyrics, on par with Punk tradition, speak against the basis and existence of authority, discussing every-day troubles and the general dreariness of the human condition. While their music isn't complex, they are not an easy listen at times but their lyrics challenge and the way those are delivered keeps one on edge. They are an "angry" band, not seeking to be likable but to convey a clear message.
It is clear that BIOHAZARD borrows heavily from Rap and Hip-Hop as well ' their delivery and rhythm may be mostly Heavy Metal, but often their vocals sound more similar to 90's Rap than the usual Metal vocals. Alternating between a single vocalist and several, BIOHAZARD wants the listener to *listen* to the words, take them in. As aforementioned, they're here to convey a message.

As a part of their European tour,BIOHAZARD, brought to you by Three Lil' Pigs, are back in Israel to restore the magnitude of volcanic eruption that persisted in their last visits back in 1994 and 1997. The band will be performing in Tel Aviv, in the very popular and well-known "Barby" club. In spite of the war situation going on (the currently on-going conflict in Gaza), BIOHAZARD have reportedly said they will still arrive ' "if you are not afraid, neither are we." - Strong words from a strong band.
Assigned to support the American Juggernaut will be "about to depart" SHREDHEAD, which won the Metal Battle in 2012 (I was there, and saw them win against some of the best of the Israeli Metal scene) and represented Israel back then in Wacken Open Air. Also there will be ETERNAL STRUGGLE, the beatdown Hardcore maniacs calling themselves Ghetto Metal, coming from the slums of central Israeli no less provocative than the headliner.
This looks to be a very loud evening in Tel Aviv, expect blood, violence and no remorse. Better be there to unleash your wrath and inflict urban discipline.
