HAKEN begin search for new bass-player
November 8, 2013
London based progressive metallers Haken released their third album 'The Mountain' on Inside Out Music in September, where it was met with rave reviews and garnered praise from Transatlantic's Mike Portnoy, who gave it his seal of approval naming it his favourite Prog album of the year. Soon after release bass player Tom MacLean announced that he would be stepping down as a member of the band to pursue other interests.
The band is now inviting bass players to submit videos as the first step in the audition process to find a new permanent member. Prospective players should visit the band's official Facebook page for the requirements or send an email to hakenbassauditions@gmail.com for more information. Successful applicants will be invited to London to take part in live auditions in January 2014. Be quick as the closing date for video submissions is December 15th 2013.
Haken recently announced a special headline show with label mates Maschine, in conjunction with House of Progression and InsideOutMusic. That show will take place on the 24th November at London's Borderline. Tickets available here: https://www.ticketweb.co.uk/event/YGB0411
'The Mountain' is available on several different formats, including a limited edition digipak CD which includes two bonus tracks, a standard jewelcase CD, a heavyweight gatefold 2LP and digital download.
