Lord Kaiaphas
Thokkian Vortex
Creating a sort of a mini niche in one's music is probably natural in order to be uncanny, or at least strive to be. Introducing various sides of a sub-genre opens up further windows of possibility to show creativity and enhance the listener's interest. The Norwegian based Thokkian Vortex, opened the gates within Black Metal, as others have been doing, to find a path to lead. With the release of their sophomore album, "Thy Throne Is Mine", Steinmetal had a talk with Lord Kaiaphas about his interests of concept, musical artistry and Lord Of Chaos
Jimmy Demetriou & Petros Leptos
Solitary Saberd
True passion nowadays, even when presented or written on paper, is rather hard to find. For the sake of the music, for the sake of heaviness, for the sake of Metal, all might be phrases but there is a lot of heart behind them for some of the groups crafting and playing nowadays. For Solitary Sabred, the mean of expression is law, and their methods and spirit appear true in form. With their new album, "By Fire & Brimstone" incoming, Steinmetal had a chance to talk with Jimmy Demetriou & Petros Leptos about the nature of the album, musical development, new age of Metal and more…

recently caught up with the band to talk about who they are, their styling, and their latest album.
Roberto Dimitri Liapakis
Mystic Prophecy
Sometimes it is beyond devotion, it is clearly a running spirit going forward on merely motivation, no octane, no breathing machine or life support. You might call it angelic, yet it is simply a lot of heart and force of will. Maintaining their form, and putting everything on the line, the Greek / German Mystic Prophecy seems on the rise. Changing label, trying to find leeways in their methods of writing songs, but still to be relevant, they marched on and released "Metal Division". Steinmetal had a pleasure to talk to Roberto Dimitri Liapakis, the band's vocalist and founder, sinking teeth into the new album, a little of the past and the future.
Ricardo Santos

Laura Glover

Tobias Buck
Neaera
It is only a guess, but to make a comeback after deciding to put something to rest, isn't an easy to decision to make. Whether it is a lucrative offer, or simply because the soul needs it, it can be an ordeal. Gladly, the folks from Germany, Neaera, made their choice to return to the scene, for now for yet another record. However, the future is uncertain, and hard to be trusted. Therefore, with the new self-titled, via Metal Blade Records, it is to have a good time, play good music and leave tomorrow for the thinkers. Steinmetal had a talk with guitarist, Tobias Buck, about the comeback, new album, musical works and more…
Ignazio Nicastro
Xenos
With a barnstorming debut album being recently released. The young Sicilian Thrash outfit
XENOS
are enjoying a period of notoriety. The guys are hugely proud of what they have achieved, and rightly so! I had the privilege to review their album
"Filthgrinder"
the other week and I found it to be fantastic. Earlier this week,
Metal Temple
writer
Marcos Garcia
had the opportunity to speak with
Ignazio Nicastro
who is both the bassist and vocalist of the group to put some questions to him about the band, their debut release, its success and their future.

SALEM'S POT
and
YVONNE.
The band jelled with members
Mick Dagger
and
Grave Dave
on guitar, the percussion section of
Timo Tinto
on bass and
Vic Odin
on drums.
Nate Gone
is the main songwriter, lead vocalist and also pitches in on guitar.
Metal Temple
writer
Dani Bandolier
had an email interview with the band to gaze into
THE GONERS
crystal ball of all things rock - past, present and rock future ... and to get a current weather report from Goner-landia.
Alcides Burn
Alcides Burn
In the late years of the 1990's, in Brazil, a new name came out on the graphic artworks for bands covers:
Alcides Burn
. The legendary artist from Recife, in the Northeast region of Brazil, is the one who signs graphic works for names as
BLOOD RED THRONE, KEEP OF KALESSIN, KRISIUN, MALEFACTOR, NERVOCHAOS, HEADHUNTER D.C., REBAELLIUM
and others.
Metal Temple
veteran writer
Marcos Garcia
had the opportunity to interview such a well-known name on the graphic arts. Here is the result of our talk with him, who attended us tenderly.
Stanley Robertson
Vagrant
It is like a constant struggle. When you have something in hand that has a pretty clear potential of becoming more than a great idea, but rather a stepping ladder into a creative and profound future. For the Melodic Death Metal band, currently a studio project, Vagrant, it is evident that once the right folks arrive, all hells will be breaking loose. Judging by their latest "The Rise Of Norn" album, it is a positivity. Steinmetal had a chat with Stanley Robertson of the band about the project, taking the music forward, the new album and more…
Jürgen "Scholli" Scholz, Ingo Bajonczak & Joachim Kremer
Assassin
Like doing a soul searching, yet not being ready to find something evil lurking inside, the potential of being a threat, a menace of society, a cause of oblivion and destruction. Every one of us has it in him/her, like a smart bomb waiting to explode. However, most of us have been able to subdue the beastly nature, making us rightful persons and good people. Assassin, the veteran Thrash Metal band from Germany, showed that a darker path is in our midst and being careful is means to set things right. Steinmetal had a talk with Jürgen "Scholli" Scholz, Ingo Bajonczak & Joachim Kremer about the roughness of the album's context, musical development of the band and how to share band members with others.

Stephan Gebédi
Thanatos
Never say never. It might appear as a phrase of Grey, yet it also shares a glimpse of hope, at least for some people. Being against the grain, living on a certain edge artistically, not giving a damn on what is trend or what is cool, that sensation has its elements. Not every artist is a salesman after all, but also a source that spreads its true belief upon its followers. Returning with a blast in 2020, the Dutch Death / Thrash Metal Thanatos, are in with vengeance, going through changes, displaying their new offering "Violent Death Rituals", proving that delivering the goods is in many forms. Steinmetal had a talk with the band's guardian and leader, Stephan Gebédi, about the paved roads towards the new album and beyond…
Håkan Stuvemark & Jonny Pettersson
Wombbath
Feeling old school is bound to remain playing old school, there is no reason to stray from an already known path, if their heart is still there. Of course, there is always a means to create a twist in the music. The Swedish Wombbath argues that their inspiration not necessarily comes from Death Metal, but I guess one will have to find out in their interview made with two of the band's veterans, Håkan Stuvemark & Jonny Pettersson, about the band's new album, "Choirs of the Fallen".
Bernd Kost
Bonded
Out of the dark and into the light, sounds rather familiar don't you think? Well, Kreator aren't the reason why this phrase was mentioned. It is about continuance, not letting go and moving forward in order to maintain subtlety, the same motivation as in the past, yet under a different foundation. After being fired from Sodom, Bernd Kost and Markus Freiwald, didn't wish to stop writing and making music. Therefore, they founded Bonded, gathered a powerful musicians' core and signed to a great label. With their debut album, "Rest In Violence" out and about making havoc, Steinmetal had the chance to talk to Kost about the whole Sodom ordeal, the present and the future of Bonded and the new album.
Alexander Stöcker
Stallion
There are a times when there is that wakeup call saying that you only live once, yet on the other hand, why not act upon what you believe in instead of feeling that you might have done different, yet with an empty heart in the back. For the German Stallion, it was obvious, them also being "Slaves Of Time", similar to their new album title, coming out via High Roller Records. Time is limited, yet it has to be used right in order to feel better about one's self. Steinmetal had the pleasure to talk to guitarist Alexander Stöcker about the new album, traditional Metal in the present and more…
Adrienne Cowan
Seven Spires
When is a follow-up not a follow-up? When it's a prequel. Semantics aside, it takes a very disciplined, ambitious band to do not only one concept album as a debut, but to follow it up with another. But it's a logical course of action for Boston-based
SEVEN SPIRES
. More on the concept of that second album,
"Emerald Seas"
(Frontiers Music srl), later. Considering the band lists one of their influences as film scores, and since singer-keyboardist
Adrienne Cowan
is a trained composer, that's a natural – they are always thinking conceptually as they did on their first release,
"Solveig."
Metal Temple writer Kira Schlechter recently caught up with
Adrienne
to talk about the new album, and other topics.
Robb Reiner
Anvil
Going for the big bong, being deterministic about something that might not seem that important to others, or does it really? The Canadian Heavy Metal legend, Anvil, have been constant with their music, yet also in the same breath, continue to give their whole within a rather wide margin. Coming up with a new album, via AFM Records, "Legal At Last", their dedication and toughness continue. Steinmetal had a talk with founding drummer, Robb Reiner, about the new bong and album, and more…
Jeff Waters
Annihilator
No matter being a veteran in the Metal world, working hard is always a must for every band that wishes to stay alive. However, it is not just making a living out of it, but also to enjoy it, continue to be motivated to create and make songs that matter for one's self first. It is never easy to write stuff that would become gold, yet it is always possible. Annihilator's Jeff Waters have always been the brains and the leading factor, coming back to the roots of the band comes to life with the band's new album, "Ballistic, Sadistic", released via Silver Lining Music. Michael Francisco had quite a chat with Jeff Waters about old times, the new album, comparisons and more...
Pawel Marzec aka Sonneillon
Blaze Of Perdition
Changing environment, yet still clasping on the human condition. Add to it a different approach towards religious beliefs and idioms, and you have yourself a thought pattern that is to be argued, to be referred as provocative. It is possible that in order to touch the heart of a listener, is also to challenge, to have him question his known facts and go beyond to explore the horizon. Blaze Of Perdition took a bewildered journey with their new "The Harrowing of Hearts". Steinmetal had at talk with Pawel Marzec, also known as Sonneillon, about the philosophical nature of the new album, expanding borders with music and more…
Henri Sattler
God Dethroned
Beyond the demand of the fans, there was a feeling that it was time to discuss aspects of old, stuff that still matters, with disregard to when, past, present or future. Setting a strong statement has always been a undeniable when it comes to the Dutch God Dethroned, whether through their earlier days, to their WWI epics and into the now, with their secretive "Illuminati", going back into channeling the hidden truths about religion. Steinmetal had the pleasure to talk to the band's leader, Henri Sattler, about going back to attack, songwriting, developing the music and onwards.

Ingar Amlien
Crest Of Darkness
The prospect of belief, believing in something is an enigma. No matter how you put it, belief, or faith for that matter, are personal, even though some people think that it is possible to enslave in the name of an idea, or a created icon, or speaking on behalf of a supernatural power. It is undeniable that us humans make our own gods, each to his or her own, and those gods cannot be overpowered on no one. With the new release of the long running veterans Crest Of Darkness, titled "The God Of Flesh", something cold, even disturbing, but intriguing is at the threshold. Steinmetal had a talk with Ingar Amlien on what is to expect out of the music and philosophy on the new album.
David "Pessimisten" Jansson & Ahlström
Ofdrykkja
Inner struggles have been one of the prime challenges of the human conditions. People battling their own personality, their ability to inflict destruction upon themselves. Some never really survived the fight, leaving the land of the living and some simply remain stale, there, but empty. There are those that rise for the challenge, fight and prevail. Ofdrykkja is a meeting ground for the complicated, yet of those who endure and fight onwards. Steinmetal had a pleasure to talk to David Jansson, also known as Pessimisten and Ahlström with the recent release of the band's new and special album, "Gryningsvisor". Expect depth in its beauty.

Jacques Bélanger
Assassin's Blade
Finding a rightful home to keep the flame burning bright and strong. It is not easy for the vast majority of musicians, especially those that are part of groups overseas, to just pack up and leave for a period of time, life hits from every corner. However, nowadays' technology and the lower pressure, help maintain artist that wish to take it easy, yet when doing what they do, they do it to perfection. Following the release of their second album, "Gather Darkness", Steinmetal had the privilege to talk with ex-Exciter, Jacques Bélanger, about Assassin's Blade new effort, its philosophy, his personal views on things that matter and more…
Michael Voss
Wolfpakk
As if it came naturally, simply produce a hefty project, filled with musicians of nearly every single role in a basic band, mash them up together. Outside looking in, it is quite the effort, needless to say the surmounting pressure. However, experience may as well be the cure. For Michael Voss and Mark Sweeney, it is as if they have been doing it for decades, and this time around, with their new album, "Nature Strikes Back", it seems they almost went overboard with the number of guest musicians, yet from what it looks like, it didn't bother. Steinmetal talked about this whole arrangement with grandmaster Michael Voss along with chit-chat about the new release.
Criss
Street Lethal
Wild, young and free, a phrase that has been caressed throughout the 80s by both Hard Rock and Heavy Metal bands, surging them into iconic success. However, it is more than a mere marketing pitch, yet a way of life, a spiritual matter that is bound by chains to every Metalhead's heart. Generation after generation, and the spirit lives on. Street Lethal, coming from Spain, are bound by Metal, and the golden era of the genre is their law. "Welcome To The Raw", the band's debut album, displays a momentum of a young group of musicians, willing to take the necessary steps to be heard, without compromise. Steinmetal had a chat with Criss of the band, walking the path of the album's composition, feel of being a Metalhead and more…
Ralf Hauber
Revel In Flesh
It is no matter if time flies, the means and motivation to go back, to indulge upon the classics as one's guide, that is a pool of bliss. It has been widely known that influence isn't being a copycat, but rather to learn and go forward on the basis of older, and sometimes, stronger examples. Coming out with the brutal festivity of "The Hour Of The Avenger", Revel In Flesh went in reverse in their music, only to come up winners. Steinmetal talked to vocalist, Ralf Hauber, about development of the themes, philosophy, nowadays market, and more…
Benjamin Guerry
The Great Old Ones
Such passion towards literature, especially the darker fields that aren't easy to tread in, is a thing of beauty. The integration process of such, at times bizarre, atmosphere with music, might break a thinking mind in half. When it comes to Benjamin Guerry, and his band The Great Old Ones, everything is possible, and it will be neatly done, leaving behind a margin of questions, which some may never be answered. After the release of "Cosmicism", Steinmetal had a chat with Benjamin Guerry about the newfound journey on the album, the ultimate theme, musical evolution and more…
Michael Stutzer
Artillery
Being a die-hard or not, it is hard to deny the contribution of the Danish band Artillery to the evolution of Thrash Metal, in particular on its technical end. However, looking back into their demo days, prior to their debut album, "Fear Of Tomorrow", the sounds and echoes of the late 80s seemed rather distant and unfamiliar. With the release of their new demo compilations, "In The Trash" and the reissue of "Deadly Relics", an opportunity to explore ancient history is here and now. Steinmetal had a talk with Michael Stutzer of the band about the early days, memories, experiences and evolution
Christopher Foley
Starborn
Putting one's best in an album isn't a simply made task, it can be daunting, and sometimes makes one closer to the edge of simply giving away to the fear of not being able to do it right. However, strong motivation and the will to come up with the utmost best, are part of the keys' chain to a brighter future. With the new Starborn album up and about, entitled "Savage Peace", Steinmetal had a talk with guitarist Christopher Foley, an early acquaintance, about what is expected from a Heavy / Power Metal album in his view, new signing and more…
Eduardo Anton
War Dogs
It is always a matter of approach, starting something new in order not to regret it later on why and how. Forming a new band can be a tricky, and even a sort of a headache, type of ordeal. However, when things slowly began to unfold, and come out nicely, it is rather exciting. War Dogs from Spain, being one of the new groups in town, are coming in with their debut, "Die By My Sword", proving that Traditional Metal lives and breathes. Steinmetal talked to Eduardo Anton of the band about this new venture, a little history lesson, interests and more…
Timo Kaarkoski
Armored Dawn
Collaborating the Vikings with The Undead, well that is a refresher. If one can find a new shindig to get things started, to find an extra crispy angle, why not really? Especially, if there is good music involved in the newfound direction, the theme serves as a mere scenery to what really matters. With the new Armored Dawn's album out, "Viking Zombie", Steinmetal felt that it was right to talk to the band's Timo Kaarkoski about the new foundation, leaving AFM Records, ventures, songwriting and theme
