Paolo Gregoletto

Trivium

It's Friday the 7th of August and the Bloodstock festival has begun, the almighty TRIVIUM are tonight's headliner's and they are surely worthy of tonight's slot on the Ronnie James Dio Stage. With a backlog of classic albums such as ''Ascendancy'' and ''Shogun'', with ''Silence In The Snow'' coming out in October it's a sure fact that they'll have a huge crowd. Emily from Metal Temple speaks to Paolo Gregoletto about headlining the festival and the new album.

Paolo Gregoletto (Trivium) interview
It's your first time playing Bloodstock and you're headlining, how are you feeling?

Good so far, a little nervous which is a good sign.

Any bands you're hoping to see whilst you're here?

As much as we can as it's a great line up, Overkill are playing and they're one of my favourite bands.

Trivium has a new track out named ''Silence In The Snow'', do you think the response has been good so far?

It's been crazy! It's caused the biggest stir online for a long time for us in a good way. We're very proud of the track and glad it's doing so well, we're hoping the track does well here tonight.

Is it true that the song was originally meant to be on Shogun?

Yeah, it was written towards the end of the recording of that album and we got to demo the track but not a finished piece. This final version has had a lot to changed to it which has improved it a lot, I think at the time of ''Shogun'' it wasn't ready to be there.

When will the album be out?

October 2nd.

So what kind of songs can we be hearing on the setlist for tonight?

A mix of everything really, the first 6 songs are all from different albums. We're trying to keep it a energy filled set all the way through, we never usually headline festivals so we have to think about the setlist more to keep everyone pumped up.

What do you think has been the pinpoint of Trivium's career so far?

I honestly don't know as it's been so crazy! It's just been a huge rollercoaster with the band.

Any big plans for the rest of 2015 with the band?

Touring! 2016 will be huge for us too.

Will 2016 be the year for the band then?

Yes! We're going to be super busy with promoting the album.
