The Frozen
Shadow Season

I'm always interested in listening to the works of collaborations between musicians from different bands. Even if this work is not really from a genre considered to be my cup of tea. Still it is always interesting to see if the package is exploding (few times) or sounds like a piece from each member's band desperately trying to harmonically coexist with each other. In the case of Shadow Season, with no doubt we have a hot piece of work.
Shadow Season contains within its ranks members of Witchmaker, Gehena, Emperor, Zyklon... I guess you got the picture. Now, how can all these evil characters coexist? Oh yes they can and believe me they do it very well! The Frozen is a Mini CD (runs less than 21 minutes) where four songs prove what the minds of skilful musicians can achieve under the same roof.
In a scene (Black Metal) sadly stagnate the last few years (no doubt, the glorious days have long gone - guys, why did you stop burning churches? This boosted the sales numbers - $$$) there are still some beacons of real artists and not simply kids running around wearing their mother's mascara. The Frozen pierces the skin, crushes your ribs and grabs your heart with its frozen hand of death. Black Metal with a personality. Drumming beyond logic, vocals from hell (often balancing between Death and Black) and a really genius use of strings. These are the ingredients of Shadow Season.
Those of you desperately looking for quality, search no more. Shadow Season impressed me from the first listening. I strongly suggest you go buy this release...
