Has there ever been something you wanted so bad that you would do anything to have it? You put yourself so into it, which it becomes your breath, your heartbeat. Well that is something Alma Vomastek from The Hourglass, a Symphonic / Industrial / Gothic Metal band founded in 2010 Cluj-Napoca, Romania is doing herself. Of course, the whole band is putting their all into The Hourglass. Vomastek herself personally contacted me asking for help. After listening to the music they have on their Facebook, www.facebook.com/TheHourglassRomania, I definitely want to do everything I can to help them!

The Hourglass is influenced by Therion, Deathstars, Gothminister, Tristania and Haggard. They have all the elements of Symphonic and Industrial Metal, sprinkled with the beautiful soprano voice of Vomastek. The band name is a representation of old and new, classical and modern music, a beginning and an end. When the band first began with Vomastek, Bogdan and ex-member Vlad, things were slow due to lack of support in their area. After switching out some members, adding others in their place, they got the final piece of the puzzle to add the cherry on this Metal sundae. Ioana, who was a pianist, joined and brought a new musical approach with playing synthesizers. And thus we now have the masterpiece before us known as The Hourglass.
