Richie Kotzen is one the greatest guitar players in Hard Rock business. His work in bands like POISON and MR. BIG speaks for itself, but his solo career marks Kotzen as an amazing songwriter and singer too. Frontiers Records just released Richie's first live album, Live In Sao Paulo taken from his 2007 South American tour.
Live In Sao Paulo is an absorbing collective blend of Kotzen's songs throughout the years. His live performance reflects the guitar style's that has defined his career as a virtuoso. Richie's amazing Fender sound and his ability to fill the spaces with rhythm and lead guitar parts, makes this live recording even better and more real. Kotzen reveals to the fans live, his true diversity with the rhythmic labours of A Love Divine to the bluesy ballad Remember. The performance continually travels between moments of classic-rock song Shapes Of Things, to the uplifting, mellow mood of Stand. I must say that there are moments that you can hear Kotzen shredding, and moments were his Funk n' Soul side comes to light. I bet that you can find many Hendrix moments in there, too.
Live In Sao Paulo is a release that touches only the Richie Kotzen fans and the guitar-hero admirers. It's a great way to listen what Richie can achieve on-stage, all the fans that never heard his music live. The rest of you can wait for a brand new Kotzen work.
