It was a loud night at the Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City when HATEBREED's 20 Years of Perseverance tour stopped in on Saturday, November 5 with special guests DYING WISH, BODYSNATCHER, and GATECREEPER. Remember, remember the 5th of November — Oklahoma City certainly will.

As members of DYING WISH stepped out onto the stage, fans could be heard chanting their name. That's not the case with many opening acts, but clearly this band has developed quite the reputation and rightfully so. Chanting their name before their set starts is certainly one way to get the band pumped up and DYING WISH definitely unleashed a ton of energy on stage and set the stage for a brutal night. They made sure their fans would not leave disappointed and undoubtedly made some new fans in the process.

BODYSNATCHER took the stage next to deliver even more brutality to the night. I noticed a number of concert goers wearing BODYSNATCHER shirts and hoodies at this show,
so they were definitely an obvious crowd favorite even before this show. Vocalist Kyle Medina  talked about how much they love playing shows in Oklahoma City. In fact, they just played a show at 89th Street OKC in August. This band is fast on the rise in the deathcore scene and doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon.

The barbarous wall of sound that is GATECREEPER went on next and they put on one hell of a good show. In fact, they were my personal favorite of the night. This band has a completely brutal sound and an exceptional stage presence. They may not be jumping around all over the stage, but you will definitely be enthralled by them. Headbanging is irresistible during their set — hair is flying everywhere — and these guys make some of the absolute best metal faces on stage.

Twenty years is a long time and heavy metal giants HATEBREED have been crushing the game for two decades. You may have seen the video floating around social media and various other metal news outlets of Jamey Jasta saying nazis aren't allowed at HATEBREED shows. Apparently some crowd members became riled up over another fan's alleged Nazi tattoos and were yelling at Jasta to kick this guy out of the show. Jasta agreed that he didn't want Nazis at their shows, but that they should police their own crowds. That's one way to make a show memorable for both the band and the crowd.
