And so the last day of Bloodstock Open Air 2016 falls upon us, headlined by SLAYER the last day a bunch of metalheads get to party in a field is happening. This year's festival has been a blast and featured some great acts but will today be as good as the previous? Let's find out.

GHOSTBATH – RONNIE JAMES DIO STAGE

GHOSTBATH is certainly a band that split the crowd opinion at Bloodstock this year, the DSBM band who have had a lot of hype due to their album ''Moonlover'' opened the stage on Sunday morning. GHOSTBATH put on a loud and heavy set for the crowd with Dennis Mikula's loud wails in the sunshine. The band put on a killer show for an opening slot on the last day but would have been better suited to the S.O.P.H.I.E stage where DSBM bands work better in the dark atmosphere.

HEART OF A COWARD – RONNIE JAMES DIO STAGE

A unexpected booking but still popular, HEART OF A COWARD are 2nd on stage and approach the crowd with ferocity. One of the most hardworking bands in the UK by far showed the main stage crowd what they are made of to anyone who doubted them. Vocalist Jamie Graham is one of the most energetic frontmen around and gets the crowd hyped up despite for most people never seeing or listening to the band before. HEART OF A COWARD are one of the best UK bands around and today's set proved why.

WITCHSORROW – SOPHIE LANCASTER STAGE

If you're a fan of doom & gloom in a darkly lit tent then you would have enjoyed WITCHSORROW. The trio that took over the tent impressed old fans who were headbanging on the front row and new fans who came to check out what was on in the tent. Necroskull is a pure doom vocalist, leather jacket with tassels and long hair included he knows how to front the band.

SATYRICON – RONNIE JAMES DIO STAGE

Despite technical issues SATYRICON's set went down a storm. The band played one of their best albums ''Nemesis Divina'' in full as part of their 20th Anniversary of the album and the fans loved it. Vocalist Satyr is one of the most prominent vocalists and knows how to get the packed out crowd hyped up, his vocals are better than ever, even on old tracks. SATYRICON was easily one of the best bands of the weekend, amazing stage presence, a killer setlist with an intense atmosphere.

ANTRHAX – RONNIE JAMES DIO STAGE

Finally, one of the most anticipated bands of the weekend, ANTHRAX hit the stage and you knew about it from a distance with the amount of crowd surfers flipping over the barrier. Scott Ian is thrashing all over the stage whilst vocalist Joey Belladonna is throwing his mic stand all over the place. It's no wonder why ANTHRAX have such a diehard following. ''Caught In A Mosh'' and ''Madhouse'' had the crowds going wild, along with the hit-filled setlist. ANTHRAX can't put on a bad show and are surely deserving of a headline slot soon.

SLAYER – RONNIE JAMES DIO STAGE

It's the last band on the Ronnie James Dio stage tonight and it's the almighty SLAYER who are touring off the back of their latest album ''Repentless''. Pyro blasting through the amps, crowds roaring and Tom Arya screaming; it's a typical headline set for the band. Playing a mix of new tracks and classics the crowd were going wild in the pits. Gary Holt and Kerry King are a pair to be reckoned with playing solo after solo and Paul Bostaph is blasting away on drums. SLAYER are the classic headliner to finish the weekend and so they did.
