John 5 (Rob Zombie) interview
It's your first time playing Bloodstock Festival, are you excited?

Yeah I'm super excited, there are some great bands playing here plus it's the last show of our tour so it's gonna be a lot of fun.

Are you planning to go out with a bang then?

Yes hopefully! We have some great songs in the setlist.

What can fans expect from the setlist?

There are tracks that we don't normally play which means it's a mix of old & new which the fans will hopefully love.

What has been the best show so far from this tour?

That is a tough one as every show has been great so I can't really say.

What has been the highlights?

I think being able to tour everywhere with friends, especially with Rob as we've been friends for so long. It's been a blast especially with summer and all the gang.

Will you be playing any music from the album that is being recorded?

Sadly not, the album will be coming out next year but with the age of Youtube and everything it's sure that something will come out soon enough.

Do you think 2016 will be the best year for the band, especially with the album coming out?

I really hope so! I can't predict the future but I really believe in this album.

What is the inspiration behind the new album?

Good music! It's songs that makes us inspired.

Is this going to be a heavy album or something on the lighter side?

Bands say that it's going to be their heaviest album but we just want to go for something with our best music, it's heavy but to me it's just the album with the best tracks.

You've played with your fair share of bands and musicians do you think this is the best group you've been with?

Definiteley, I've been in the band for over 11 years and this is the happiest I've been with no intention of leaving. We're firing on all cylinders.

You're known as a guitar hero to many fans, who inspired you to play guitar?

I think TV as I watched a lot of it as I saw bands like THE MONKEE'S and Jimi Hendrix playing so it made me want to pick up a guitar.

If you wasn't with the band and touring around the world, what would you be doing instead?

I would probably be teaching guitar or playing session work, it would be something within music regardless.

Can we be expecting any solo work soon?

Yeah, my last record ''Careful With That Axe'' came out last year and I'm beginning work on new stuff and I'll be touring again soon so keep an eye out for an announcement.

If you could play with any band in the world, who would it be?

I'd play with all my hero's for sure but even though this sounds corny I'd still play with who I'm playing with now as it's a great group.

What tips would you give to people who are wanting to get their band off the ground?

Go to somewhere with opportunity. Places like London, LA, New York where there are labels and agents looking for bands so it's easier to be noticed, it sounds like harsh advice but it's true.
