It's been absolutely fantastic and went a lot better than expected, it was a risk doing this tour as it was the middle of summer and people are on holiday but we're competing with festivals too. The gamble paid off though.
Bristol was probably the best night so far because it was the biggest venue and crowd but also our home town show so it was a blast.
Yeah brilliantly, all the bands are great and we've toured with ARTILLERY before so we know them pretty well but DEMONIC RESSURECTION really work hard and it's paying off.
Bristol by far, it was special and no one could compete with how good it was.
It's been 8 years since we did the last DVD so I think it was time to bring out a new one as we've released 3 albums since then and a few member changes so the new identity of the band deserved to be on the new DVD. We recorded the London and Bristol shows with a professional crew but for the other shows fan submitted videos to give it a different complexion.
Well obviously it will be a live show but we did a few interviews so a mix of both I guess but we talk about all sorts.
Yeah it's going to be really exciting.
It's been tough for me personally as I had to be a tour manager this time and it is a nightmare which I'd never do again but we had unexpected costs on the tour so we had to ditch the tour manager. But in general I love touring due to being able to travel places but the other guys miss home a lot.
Yeah it went down amazingly, a lot of the women and men of the press gave it rave reviews with fans saying it's been the best album from our whole career so its really made everything worth it.
To make a better album than the last! But that is how I and all bands work really; you have to keep pushing yourself to make even better music.
The main inspiration for me was to keep the band moving forward.
Probably ''66 Fucking 6'' just for the crowd reaction!
The record label is already on to us for new music but ''VI'' has only been out around 8 months so we have loads of promotional stuff to do yet for the last album but I have started writing ideas for the next one.
It's really different how we make records now but the most enjoyable record to make was our fourth album I think as we moved to London for a few months so it was a new experience completely, but now we mostly record everything from home.
We're going to keep going till we haven't got the energy anymore or until the inspiration runs dry and we can't create anymore music, we're getting great reviews currently but when they go bad it will be time to stop.
Everything really, we have great musicians in the band and we all get on great. This line up is a lot more relaxed, some members of the previous lineup were very hard to deal with which but everyone is very easy going now.
It started off as being into Hardcore / Punk which is what ONSLAUGHT started off as but all the metal stuff such as MOTORHEAD and SABBATH got added to the mix and helped develop into the thrash metal sound which I learnt to play as I started listening to bands such as METALLICA, GBH, DISCHARGE, ANTHRAX and more.
I was seeing a lot of bands and when I saw them I always wanted to be able to play what they played so it inspired me, me and my friend used to follow DISCHARGE around the country which was the biggest inspiration.
DISCHARGE and MOTORHEAD are my main too due to the raw energy they have in their sound and live performances, if you listen to their music there is something that you can find which other bands don't have.
Well today is the last day of tour so we have a while off before festival appearances begin, we have lots of small festivals and a few big ones too.
If I'm honest there's not so many great bands as their used to be which is a shame, the scene in the UK is okay but it isn't at its best any more, for example mainland Europe and South America have amazing metal scenes. There is some great young bands out there who aren't getting enough exposure.
Basically you've got to concentrate on the material you're creating, when we do our demos or writing we work on it till we can't improve it any more. A lot of bands are releasing their demos due to being too excited to release their music so it's not at its peak. You just need to get everything right when you're releasing it.
Thanks a lot, cheers.
