Hail The Void emerged from the dense woodlands of British Columbia, Canada. Their self-released, self-titled album, which reached #4 on the Doom Charts for June 2020, and won them the "Best Debut Album" Doomie Award at the first annual Doomed and Stoned Awards. The band consists of "Kirin Gudmundson"- (guitars/vocals), "Dean Gustin"-(bass), and "Curtis Bennet"-(drums). All three members bring their own contributions and influences to the heavy psychedelic doom metal sound. "Memento Mori" is their second album released in February 2023 on Ripple Music. According to the band, this album evolves from a colossal and thunderous doom beast to a lysergic and spellbinding rock marvel. It contains finely chiseled riffs, powerful build-ups and ardent vocals. A multi-dimensional record that should captivate fans of doom metal, classic rock and heavy psychedelia all at once.

Released as part of the special series of releases by "Ozzy Osbourne" bassist "Blasko" who stated "Hail The Void released one of the strongest debuts I have ever heard. The lead single 'Parasite' was one of my most listened-to songs of the year. I am beyond excited to work with these dudes on their sophomore release. Expect to see big moves from Hail The Void in the years to come".

"Mind Undone" starts off the album with an eerie noise introduction. "Writing On The Wall" starts with a with chanting vocals and a solo guitar and moves into a slower doom song with a great mid-song psychedelic guitar solo. "Goldwater" starts with a solo guitar, subtle at first, which evolves into another mid-tempo doom song with crisp guitar solos. "Talking To The Dead" is a little more traditional sounding doom song with an instrumental start flowing into the vocals and a very mesmerizing guitar solo. This is the longest song on the album.

"High And Rising" starts with a doomy bass line and moves slowly into the vocals with spurts of full on doom riffs and pounding rhythm section and some nice fuzzy guitar solos. "100 Pills" starts with a melodic guitar which continues throughout. The vocals are reminiscent of 70's doom from the masters themselves. "Serpens South" is a slightly faster, psychedelic song with more straightforward riffs and guitar solo. "The Void" ends the album with a very slow cathartic song, with haunting vocals, which starts slow and continues that pace throughout.

"Hail The Void" won several accolades for their debut self-release which was limited to 330 albums. They proclaimed that their  second album, "Memento Mori" contains a heavy psychedelic doom sound with touches of classic rock and progressive sounds similar to bands from the 70's.
