Scream Taker - Kill the Beautiful album cover

There are musicians playing in many bands today, and some people always ask the reasons. One of them is the need of expressing other ideas that don't fit in the musicians' main bands; the other isn't as noble as this one: due the digital domain on music today turned their lives a bit hard, because the musical industry always tries to keep rolling, even when things are hard (you can read about it in many articles) and the costs for musicians and fans are expensive. But these words don't take the value of releases as "Kill the Beautiful", the first full length of the trio SCREAM TAKER.

On the band's ranks are experienced and known musicians that played with acts as BLACK SABBATH, DIO, HEAVEN AND HELL, SUNROAD, KILL DEVIL HILL, HOLLYWOOD MONSTERS, LYNCH MOB and others, what makes the fans create great expectative about the music they'll hear. It's nothing more than the good and old Hard Rock of the 70's and 80's, created with charming melodies, very good choruses and all the features that are usual for the genre (but in some moments, the weight of Heavy Metal becomes evident, as presented on "Stone Cold") with resemblances with DIO's works.

Obviously, it's nothing new and presents no reformulations on the genre, but's honest, full of energy, life, and personality. What more a fan could ask? The band worked in a form on studio during the COVID-19 pandemic to make things sound as organic and powerful as in a rehearsal (obviously, taking care to make things defined and understandable), far from the 'frozen-in' sensation that some albums bring. And the work is excellent, balancing weight, aggressiveness and commercial accessibility in a perfect way.

12 songs are presented on the album, all of them hard to resist to. But to have the right idea of what this trio is up to, take a bit on "Kill the Beautiful" (a heavy and powerful song, but the melodies are amazing as well, and what lovely work of the vocals), "Stone Cold" (this one is heavier and bitter than the previous one, focusing a lot on the weight unleashed by bass guitar and drums), "Eternity" (besides it's a bit faster, it bears a charming and commercial appeal, with very good contrasts shown on the guitars' arrangements, and what a catchy chorus), "Love Takes" (that bear the famous 80's energetic hooks contrasting with sharp guitars, but in an updated form), "Silver Tongued Devil" (another moment based on strong melodies than shows a powerful weighty grasp), "Blindman" and "Burning Flame" (if the reader is a fan of 80's Metal, these songs are for you, indeed), and "Frontline". These are the right ones for a first ride on the album.

Be welcome, SCREAM TAKER, and let's hope that "Kill the Beautiful" is just the beginning.
