Bad Sister - Where Will You Go album cover

It's common to think that the mix between Hard Rock and AOR was an exclusive musical genre of USA due the commercial dominance of the genre on the country during the 80's (it lasted between 1983 until 1992). But it's a false idea, because many bands presented this same idea on different countries (EUROPE on Sweden is a fine example), and even without being a massive commercial success, many others existed on those days. One of them is the veteran German quintet BAD SISTER. And they're releasing "Where Will You Go". The band's music balances the right amounts of influences of Hard Rock with AOR, in a way that the songs can be heard by anyone, and not only Rock or Metal fans due its accessible appeal; in other hand it brings the classic elegance known from German hard Rock acts, and many moments filled with 70's influences (as can be heard clearly on "Bright Lights").

The band really worked hard on its songs, creating many excellent melodies, hooking choruses, and everything else, but always in a way that is spontaneous and uncompromised with anything else that isn't their own personality. So be prepared to be hooked! The album was produced by the hands of Kai-Ove (the band's drummer) at Hammaburg Studios, Hamburg (the band's hometown), and mixed it was mixed by Timo Höcke. The sonority of the album is really spontaneous and organic, as it hasn't endless digital editions; but always sounding alive and actual, and in a form that is simple to understand.

The album is so easy to hear and like that it's hard to anyone to resist to it, especially in moments as "Lose or Win" (a song filled with an 80's ambience, a very good chorus and with catchy melodies and amazing guitar arrangements), "Feels Like Love" (that bears the same elements of the previous one, and what lovely weight comes from bass guitar and drums), "Bright Lights" (the brings that old and good AOR feeling of the 70's, and what great vocals lines), "Don't Need Me" (an accessible song filled with energy in a form that can be a live hit on the shows), "Couldn't Do Right" (this one nearer of a AOR song due its accessible appeal, laid on very good keyboards parts), "Could It Be Love" (an amazing ballad with lovely and tender melodies), "Moon Woman" (a heavier ballad with energy and elegance), and "Got Caught". The others are as excellent as these ones, mind you.

"Where Will You Go" is said by the band as their finest moment. But one thing must be stated: that BAD SISTER really created a precious jewel.
