Inhuman Depravity - The Experimendead album cover

Brutal Death Metal acts have an ample set of musical choices to create their works, but unfortunately, the greater part of them just stay in the limits created by the pioneers as SUFFOCATION, MORTICIAN, DYING FETUS and others. But some bands have guts and courage to do things in their own way, as the Turkish act INHUMAN DEPRAVITY, as can be heard in their second album, "The Experimendead".

Their musical work, in reality, is a mix between influences of Brutal Death Metal (especially due the low tuned grunts of the vocals) with charming elements inherited from classic Death Metal. It's a lot of different from those acts that remains doing the same thing done in the past again and again. It's full of energy and aggressiveness, but always with careful instrumental arrangements and many hooks. Maybe the reason for these differences is the fact that they're not in the main axis of the genre, so they aren't indoctrinated with sayings as 'Brutal Death Metal must be in this way' or 'the tunes must be in that way'. And it earns the band a lot of positive points.

Can Gelgeç took care of the recordings of the drums in some tracks, and mixed and mastered the songs (Erhan Kabakçı took care of the recording of the vocals, and of the drums on other tracks that weren't done by Can). It's another very good point, because the sonority of the album isn't 'obeying' the rules of the genre, so it's a surprise to check such release. It's a very good and courageous work on the production, indeed.

Even with these differences, it'll be impossible to the fans of the genre to not fall in love with the band's music. Take a bit on "Obsessed with the Mummified" (that trails a way into traditional Death Metal using elements and arrangements inherited of Brutal Death Metal, always with a piledriving work of bass guitar and drums), "Mescannibalismus" (another classic Death Metal outfit is used to shape the song, with excellent guitar arrangements and riffs), "Burnt to Exist" (some catchy Thrash Metal influences can be heard in the guitars, but it's amazing how the low grunts are fitting in an harmonic way under the instrumental sheath, and some arrangements of Brutal Death Metal can be heard), "Whole Body Radiation" (this song is filled with brutal slow moments, but in an anomalous way, what means it's very good), "Death 22" (what a break necks song, brutal and with a massive weight), and on "Ex Nihilo Transition". These will do the job to smash your bones to dust!

INHUMAN DEPRAVITY shows on "The Experimendead" that personality is the right way to create a personal work. Pay attention to the name of the band, because they're on the right path to become great!
