Descent Into Madness
Corrupter

In some moment in the past, between 1984 and 1986, Death Metal and Black Metal were separated, because in the early years, both genres were considered as two aspects of the same genre. But even today there are bands using such approach in many different ways, some with an Old School form, others using a more modern and brutal work. Whatever one can say about the French band CORRUPTER, no one can deny that "Descent Into Madness" has its charm.
It's extreme and brutal, played with some fast and nasty parts and with some caustic oppressive moments with slow tempos. It's not so complicated to understand what the band is doing, and it shows that their musical work is easy to be assimilated by the fans. And be prepared, because this album shows a mastodonic energetic release, a bonecrushing weight and an aggressive approach that is lovely, but always playing things with personality. It's not a sin to say that the band is a bastard son (in the good meaning of the word) of Brazilian masters of SARCÓFAGO. The band took the duties of the production on their own hands, so they had full control of what their sonority would be. It's nasty and brutal, with some crude insight in many moments, to keep things organic and filthy. But one can easily understand what they're playing. And as guest, they have the presence of Meyhna'ch (of MÜTIILATION) on some vocals.
They come to make ears bleed and ring for days, so be prepared for their musical assault. And the brutal speed used on "End of the Rope" (very good guitar riffs and grunts shapes their Death/Black Metal musical approach), "Darkest Light" (a morbid and slow paced set of tempos that are presented to create contrasts with fast moments, with very good parts of bass guitar and drums), the funereal ambience of "No Life Here", the massive attack of fast parts heard on "Horror and Aftermath", the rhythmic bombing of "A Mistaken Anointing of the Sick" (fine contrasts can be heard again), and "Descent Into Madness" are songs that can seduce every extreme Metal fan that dare to listen to this album.
"Descent Into Madness" is really a very good album, and thinking that it's their first release shows that their future will be great!
