LEADEN TEARS has made its entrance into the Symphonic Metal world with their album "Nobody's Innocent". The Italian band came together in 2021 and released the album in January 2022. They combine different influences from an orchestrated classical sound with a touch of progressive/alternative rock. To add a cherry on top a church-like gothic environment with banging metal tunes gives the right rush of energy.

"The Revenger", the 5th track on the album, is the first single that came out. I will talk about this track as it really introduces what the rest of the album feels like: Emotions and I mean a lot of them. The song starts off giving a dark sinister sound with a drum entrance to kick in and heighten that revengeful feeling. The vocals of Angela balance out the guitar playing to give beauty with a tint of hatred. Drive, anger and pain define what the song is all about. I can say that this is my favorite track on the album.

If any of you love a good sailor's song, then your ears will definitely get a feast with the "Siren Song". I hope everyone knows that sirens might be beautiful, but they are technically on the evil son. They lure men in with their voices and then pretty much eat their victims. It starts off with a soothing electric guitar with waves in the background. A powerful guitar chord swooshes in alerting that something is approaching adding the drums to give that extra drive. Representing the majestic siren with the organ playing and Rik's vocals being attracted to the siren, Angela's beautiful voice comes in as the chorus lures him in with her siren song. Then we all know what comes in after that, I will spare you the details.

Mythological creatures really stand out in this album, such as "Wolf-Man". You are either team vampire or team were-wolf right? This track really made me feel the transformation. It creates the image of how the body starts to tear allowing the wolf from within to show itself. It is exactly what a metamorphosis would look like, perhaps an even painful one. I mean when does turning into an animal ever feel great.

The one song on the album that I felt was perhaps a filler and it didn't really fit in, in my opinion, is "Space". While the song itself was quite beautifully written with the soothing guitar, it somehow leads you away from the rest of the album. Perhaps they did that for a reason? After closely understanding the themes the band sings about it is definitely a mix of ideas from life to mythological creatures. I personally prefer to listen to an album that has recurring energy through it. An album that really keeps me glued to constantly get the rush. Nonetheless, this is LEADEN TEARS first album, they have huge potential and I can really see them making a name for themselves. Give the album a listen and enjoy the rollercoaster of emotions!
