SurVive
Eternal Flight
When a band ends its career, it can leave a legion of fans orphans. No band releases two or three albums without having a good number of fans, you know. But for those that are into music (especially Metal), to play becomes an addiction, so the musicians will come back sooner or later one can think. And ETERNAL FLIGHT, from France, is a proof of such words. Just spin once "SurVive", their fourth album, to understand.
As everyone knows, the quartet was born from DREAM CHILD's ashes. But the inheritance the band bears is not as they're a sequence of the previous band, because the band has a heavy work on their Power Metal ways. Yes, it's heavy and modern, filled with charming melodies and with good technical level, but some melodies of the quartet's work seems to come from Hard Rock due its catchy appeal. And what energy comes from their songs, so be prepared to be hooked! The album was recorded, mixed and mastered at Morphoenix studio (owned by the vocalist Gérard), and things worked in a great way, making the band's music clean and understandable for everyone. But be prepared, because the weight that comes from the songs is amazing. And what a wonderful piece of art created by Giannis Nakos for the cover!
All the songs are excellent, but pay attention to their inspired moments shown on the heavy melodic guitars of "Will We Rise Again" (an amazing riffing can be heard, along with inspired vocals with excellent tunes), to the hooks presented on "Hear the Call" (a solid and massive rhythm is created by bass guitar and drums, and what a lovely chorus), to the abrasive and weighty approach used to sharp "The Promise" (some Prog Metal tempos can be heard, along with good keyboards parts) and "Is This the End" (the interpretation of the vocals are great on this last one), to the excellent technical work shown on "Mysterious Kings" and "Evolution, Revolution" (this one shows catchy moments filled with abrasive guitar riffs), and to the Prog Metal changes heard on "Children of the Earth". And for its concept, a story based on a post-apocalyptic world where Morphoenix (the band's mascot) fights against evil to save humanity, what gives a positive feeling coming from the album (a great feeling that world needs now).
Yes, ETERNAL FLIGHT deserves applause for such an excellent album. What are you waiting for? Listen to "SurVive" right now!
