SAVE THE WORLD is a modern Arena Rock band from Nashville, TN. "Two" is the band's second album and label debut, released on Frontiers Music on May 7, 2021.

Since the release of "One," SAVE THE WORLD has undergone a major line-up change; original drummer Jon Wysocki is no longer a member of the group. However, this change has not slowed the band down, as "Two," is just as powerful a statement as "One."

One noticeable difference between this album and the group's debut is that the production is a little...off. It's not egregious, but something about the choices made on this album resulted in a lack of the sonic punch that "One" had. Despite this, the songs are still incredibly strong.

The riffs never stop with Dan Tracey. "Bones," in particular, has a real stomper of a riff that is reminiscent of the sleazy groove of ZZ TOP's hit, "Sharp-Dressed Man." "Miss Muse" similarly has a truly memorable melodic riff that compliments Tracey's vocal harmonies beautifully. "Defenders of the Faith" also features a headbanging riff, with lots of Prog elements sprinkled in. Finally, "Man on an Island" has a BOSTON-esque flair, with various guitar harmonies and Tracey doing his best impression of Brad Delp (RIP).

Other moments rely more heavily on melody and keyboards than guitar riffs. "When Amanda Hits the Stage," is actually quite close to synthpop, with its electronic-sounding drums, dance-y, arpeggiated keyboard bassline, and industrial fills. Additionally, Robert Wright ingeniously makes his presence known on the bass guitar with the most subtle melodic fill I've ever heard, proving his worth as an important layer to the band's sound. "Longer" is a stunning power-ballad that would make bands like POISON and CINDERELLA jealous. Finally, the album's opener, "Camera Obscura," probably has the most Progressive Rock feel to any of the tracks on this album, with its odd time signature and multiple synth layers.

All in all, this is an excellent follow-up to "One." I'm not entirely sure what is going on with the production that I don't like, but there is some instrument layer that makes the whole album feel...static-y if you will. However, it is refreshing to see that the lineup change SAVE THE WORLD went through was not enough to seriously alter the band's sound. I eagerly await the group's next release.
