Scream Collision - Memories album cover

This 5 piece Band from Athens, Greece formed in October 2017 originally playing covers for Rock, Hard Rock, and metal in a lot of music stages. When it comes to say who has influenced them the most since they formed it varies all over, but their biggest influences are Hard Rock and Metal. After a couple of years performing cover songs the band felt it was the right time to start composing their own music and after 2 years of hard work came their release of "Rolling A Dice" and have just released their debut album. "Memories" This first album for the band embraces all the bands musical influences throughout their lives, forming their own sounds and lyrics. This album is sought to be a loose concept album, about a man who is battling mental health issues and isn't handling it very well but, in the end, he is the one of is victorious and shows his demons he can overcome them.

"Mess Inside My Head (Memories)" The song starts off with a very emotional tune and gives me the thought that it is a very emotional song. The way the instruments are played in this song really make the song come alive and bring the audience along with the ride. One line of the song that really sticks with me is "Memories that I lost rolling back to me now," This one line of the song makes you think that there this person was going through a really bad time where he found himself stuck in a really bad depression but eventually as time goes on, he starts to realise that's he's gradually becoming better.

"The Last Straw" As soon as I start listening to this particular song, I can't help but feel that I am walking through a graveyard late a night and something really bad is going to happen. The way song is set out with the guitars playing as if they are on a mission to complete before the time runs out and they only have 1 chance to get it right. As the song goes on all the instruments playing together certainly do gel really well and makes the rhythm of the song a lot better. This song makes me think of someone who is in a really dark place with nobody about or nobody to see that he is suffering, And that this man is on his last legs and thinking about committing suicide.

"AWOL" The way all the instruments have their own part to play and own story to tell is brilliant every instrument gets their own time to showcase what they've got, and every instrument sets the tone for this song in their own way. As I delve into the lyrics of this music single it becomes clear that the man suffering with the demons in his head has finally realised that he needs to do something to help himself, He needs to get away before its to late to do anything. This song is very unique as I can see it from 2 points of view The man wants help and has realised, he needs help to get rid of this illness, But also the lyrics suggest that this could be the demon speaking telling him he can't hide anywhere, he will always be found.

"Rigged Game" This song is when the man finally realises that everything, he went through was just in his head, And now that is on the mend the man is determined not to go down that way anymore. This song definitely has a more positive outlook on the situation as it has progressed throughout the album. "Raise your fists in the air and scream out loud" This line of the song is really astonishing as it shows us all that if you put your mind to it then you can overcome anything with hard work and determination.

My overall thoughts on this album are that this is a very inspiring album to me, as I have been through mental health issues myself and anyone who listens to this album will be truly inspired by the way this has been projected. It just goes to show you no matter what problem occurs or illness if you put your mind to it and show you want to overcome your deepest fears then you will be successful, From vocals to keyboards everyone had their own part to play to make this album stand out the way it has for me, I can only see positive things happening for this band. For anyone who battles against mental Health with this album, The band will take you from your deepest fears to believing that there is a way out.
