Every Metal genre, as it evolves and mutates due the musical experiments made by the musicians, generates new subgenres. And Death Metal can be said as the genre that gave birth to the greater number of subgenres into Metal. One of those them is Technical Death Metal, a genre that is extremely aggressive and technical in both ways, and besides it's eroded by time, there are some good names appearing every time, as the Spanish quartet BONECARVER, which is releasing their first album, "Evil".

Their musical work isn't just a form of Technical Death Metal, but Technical Deathcore. In other words: it's a fusion between the brutality and technical approach of T. Death Metal (to write 'technical' is becoming boring) with the modern vibe and Groove from Modern Metal tendencies, and it's really exaggerated sometimes. But the band uses very good contrasts and fine melodic arrangements sometimes (as can be heard on "Overtorture" and "Mallevs Malificarvm"). It's an amazing work, and besides they must evolve a bit more (just a bit, please0, they're really doing a great musical work.

This musical massacre has a very good sound quality, indeed. It's modern and defined in a way that everything can be understood without great efforts from the listeners, but be prepared to have your bones stomped-flat, because it's truly aggressive, a sonority that impacts in the ears of everyone. A perfect artifact to cause disturbs in the neighborhood.

"Revolver" with its abrasive and technical insight (and contrasts between low grunts and shrieks), "Overtorture" (fine melodies arising in some moments, and a sharp attack from the guitars), "Mallevs Malificarvm" (the mix between the aggressiveness of Death Metal with some Groove Metal influences is very good on this one, and bass guitar and drums are playing as if there wasn't a tomorrow to live), "Nest of Traitors" (another mix between Death Metal aggressiveness with the massive groove of modern tendencies), and "Evil" (a song full of contrasts and fine arrangements) are the right ones for a first ride on the album, and to know the band's work.

For now, BONECARVER seems like a very good new name, and only time will tell what they're up to. For those who love modern Metal tendencies and modern Death Metal will love "Evil" for sure.
