JESSE DAMON is a singer and multi-instrumentalist that has a long career on the music business. He gained fame when he's ex band signed up with Gene Simmons (Kiss) records and since then he have worked a lot to achieve his pot of gold. Jesse and Paul Sabu have recently released their newest album "Damon's Rage" and that's what we are going to talk about.
The opening song from the album is "Play To Win" and it starts out with a cool guitar riff, but I must say that the drum tone aren't so honest. The vocal lines from the stanza are pretty good and you will totally be transported back to the golden era of 80's Hard Rock. The chorus is pretty good and there's a really catchy melody. "Love Gone Wild" has a darker guitar riff and the traditional 80's sound that made tons of bands really famous. I liked how they could sound like they did back in the the eighties. The backing vocals are probably one of the biggest highlights on the song as they gave it a completely great Hard Rock revival vibe.
"Damon's Rage" is the title that gives its name to the album and it starts out with a cool guitar solo and even some keyboards that gave it a cool vibe. The guitar work here is really good and it has a little bit more of heaviness mixed up with the Hard Rock vibe. The chorus is great again and the melody is awesome. You will be singing it as soon as you heart it fort the first time.
"Electric Magic" starts out with a cool and funny guitar riff with a different tone only a little bit of overdrive. This song as the others, is really good and I bet you are going to love it. "Tell Me Lili" starts out with a very different ambiance compared to the previous songs. It has a cool atmosphere created by the keyboards and the guitar lick on the beginning, but it soon turns into a Hard Rock song that reminded me the kings from MR.BIG. Great song.
"Here Comes Trouble" starts out with a synthesizer that will create a cool ambiance and it keeps with the keyboards that seems to have been influenced by DEEP PURPLE. I have nothing much to say about the song, besides that its great. "Love Is The Answer" starts out with a more melodic sound created by the synthesizer and it reminded me of Pop Rock bands from the 80's and even some WHISTESNAKE. Man, they know how to write songs. "Shadows Of Love" continues the ambiance created on the previous song and I can't say enough... just listen to it, dude. Listen to!
"Flyin' Dutchman" starts out with a cool ambient sound and a more Rock guitar riff that grows until the drums and bass comes in. There's a cool vibe on this song and the guitar solo is also a part of this horror story that happens here. I bet you will be flyin' with the Dutchman as soon as you hear it.
"Adrenaline" starts out with a guitar riff that sounds pretty similar to some previous riffs on the album. The vocal work is still great and I liked how the backing vocals sounded here. "Lonely Night" starts out with a bass, drums and cool guitar riff that created a fuckin' perfect vibe. The vocals hits in and you know for sure that its a great song. The chorus have a lot of great melodies and the vocal work is good. "Wildest Dreams" is the song that closes the album and it starts out with a cool synthesizer sound mixed up with some guitar riffs. It even feels like some space kind of music. Its a calmer song and I believe that it was a great choice to end the album.
JESSE DAMON has written and released a great Hard Rock album and I'm not even sure how they wrote an album that could totally be released in the 80's these days. Its inspiring and a trip to the golden era of Rock, but I think that it could have less songs. Its a great album anyway. All the best guys.
