JINJER return wasting little time to dwell on the success of their EP, "Micro" from earlier in January of this year. Instead, the band unleashed their fourth studio album, and brilliant follow-up, "Macro" on October 25^th via Napalm Records. Somehow, ad midst all this productivity, JINJER have put forth a powerful one-two assault; a potent jab, followed by a lethal uppercut to 2019 album of the year contenders.

"Macro" manages to tackle complexities such as mental health ("Pit Of Consciousness" & "On the Top"), philosophy and religion ("Pausing Death" and "Noah") and world turmoil ("Home Back"). The band re-enforces the seriousness of the topics with a full-on, fevered musical attack that still at times manages to show the bands vast eclecticism in their approaches. Case in point, the unmistakable reggae/ska influences within "Judgement (& Punishment)". Never in a million years would I have seen that one coming, and still, JINJER manages to make it seem like it's a perfect fit.

I've been fortunate to see Ukranian based JINJER live twice in the past year. I'll be the first to tell you that those two live performances are what sold me 100% on a band I'd never heard of a little more than a year ago. JINJER's form of heavy cacophonous melody is a technical marvel to me. The complexities of the musical structure are seemingly constantly evolving while Eugene and Vladislav pummel away at the snaking rhythms, while the technical distinctions are centered on the ever fluctuating time signatures, accented by Roman's flashes of fretboard flourishes and triumphant riffage. Make no mistake, these three men are the architects of JINJER's sound, but it's vocalist Tatiana Shmailyuk that completes the complicated musical equation that propels JINJER to the elite level.

How Tatiana can pur so seductively one moment, then pursue a demonic coldness the next is beyond comprehension. If one didn't know better, you would assume two distinctive vocalists are hard at work here. Yet, anyone that's seen the band live can attest that Tatiana makes it seem effortless even in a live setting. Her vocal range is simply beyond belief. She's literally a Ms. Jeckyl and Mrs. Hyde all wrapped in one.

With "Macro", JINJER have announced their rightful place as one of metal's new hopes. The songwriting is potent, the instrumentation is complex, yet engaging and the presentation is perfection.This is a band that's gaining tremendous success at a staggering pace and "Macro" as well as it's accompanying tours should easily cement JINJER as one of the next decade's foremost bands to watch.
