Lambs‡ - Malice album cover

Some bands love to use different and experimental ideas increase their creativeness. In the past, to be creative was a demand. No one could be a second version of other band, because the public would turn its back for the band. So, names as the Italian quartet LAMBS‡ are good to hear, for "Malice" is filled with different musical elements. Their music is Black Metal, but filled with experimental elements from Death Metal, Post-Hardcore, Sludge Metal, and even some Thrash Metal parts, but always with a melancholic/depressive ambiance. Of course some can say that the formula is widely used into underground depths, but not in such way.

The production of "Malice" built a sound quality that binds together a crude and moldy feeling (due the instrumental tunes used on the recording sessions), as some Depressive Black Metal bands use. But the total outfit of the sonority was conceived to be clean, to be understood. "Debug" (a sinister song with a long Industrial introduction, and can sound a bit Avant-garde in some ways), "Arpia" (a brutal and aggressive song, with old school Death Metal influences in some tempos), "Ruins" (another song with a weird introduction, but as it begins, it shows a depressive/melancholic ambience that bears harsh voices), "Perfidida" (a mix between Sludge Black Metal with weird depressive parts, with chilling-bones guitars), and the depression made music called "Misfortune" are shots that show that these guys have too much to offer.

Maybe "Malice" isn't sounding as the ideal point by now, for their musical work deserves to be mature a bit more. But LAMBS‡ is really a promising name, that kind of name that deserves to be followed with care.
