MELTDOWN is a Heavy Metal 5-piece band from Norway, who recently brought us their newest album, "Deadringer". This is the band's second album to date. The album was released on October 25th, 2019, and is picking up speed as it goes. MELTDOWN is a band who don't claim any particular genre, other than 'Metal' and are, therefore, bringing us a variety of musical styles across the new album. We can hear everything from softly sung vocals, to deep throat growls, showing the band's true diversity. The band claim influence from such other bands as FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, PANTERA and MACHINE HEAD - hence giving listeners an idea of the style to expect from MELTDOWN. The throat-tearing vocal of this album throw it up there as quite a thrashy album, but there can also be heard a wide variety of octaves being reached through the singing. As stated, they do not slide into a single genre.
The 8-song-long album that is "Deadringer" brings us such songs as "Who I Am", which at 3 minutes 44 seconds long, is a fast-paced track with fast guitars and accompanying drum beat mixed with wrenching vocals which is not to be missed. Title track "Deadringer" is a fine song with a well-balanced mix of growl and heavy singing. "Bleeding" is a song with a fine instrumental which can be easily head-banged to. If you like your Metal hard and fast, then this is an album you should hear. "Conspire" is a track which opens as heavily as it means to go on. A song about paranoia and conspiracy to attract the attention of the mind. Recommended is a good set of lungs to sing along to this powerful album. Another song to listen out for on "Deadringer" is "Senses Overload".
The Norwegians certainly know how to bring their own unique brand to the scene with their second album and it's in no way an album that should be played at a medium volume. This screamer of an album should be played like it is - loud. "Deadringer" is an album for those who like a variety of styles in the pace of the music and vocals, given the diversity of this album. A true Metal screamer of an album, and, in my opinion, MELTDOWN proves to be a band who play loud and proud and fast-paced melodic music. A band for those who like it loud and have the throat for deep growls and loud singing with powerful vocals. An album not to be missed by fans of the Norway 5-piece band. If you are already a fan, then I suggest tuning in and turning up the volume, and those who haven't heard the band perform their unique taste and style, get ready for a new experience in Heavy Metal music.
