There are such available subgenres into any Rock/Metal genres that it's a hard time to explain about each one of them. That happens because some bands prefer to write music in their own way into one or other genre. Even on Glam Metal and AOR this feature happens. And HARDLINE is here to proof those words, because "Life" seems to be here to defy previous conceptions. Their music is melodic, charming and accessible, but the energy and musical weight that come from their songs is really something amazing. We could compare their music barely to names as VAN HALEN, PINK CREAM 69 on "Sonic Dynamite" times and GOTTHARD, because it's truly heavy and aggressively ferine, but melodic and hooking in a way that isn't possible to resist. Yes, they're pretty good, and some different elements can be detected in some parts (as the use of Hammond organ on "Helio's Sun").

It seems that Alessandro Del Vecchio, the band's keyboardist, produced "Life". And the result is a modern and heavy sound giving the right embodiment to their songs, as they flow wild and heavy, show great energy, but always in a way that the ears of the listener can hear the musical instruments separately. And what a good choice for the instrumental tunes! "Place to Call Home" in some moments have guitars that will remind OZZY's "Desire" on its beginning, but soon it becomes a savage energy flux right into the ears, and what guitars and choruses. On "Take a Chance", the aggressiveness goes down and melody goes up, but it's still a Glam Metal/Metal song, with excellent modern melodies and very good work on bass guitar and drums. On "Helio's Sun", the musical ambiance becomes a bit more accessible in some moments, with a strong presence of excellent keyboards, nasty guitars and great vocals (those "oh, oh, oh" are remarkable). "Hold On to Right" is a heavier and thunderous song, where the melodic ambiance is modern and tasteful, and the same can be found on "Handful of Sand" (this one has pretty great guitars, especially the solos and interventions).

Their beautiful version for QUEEN's "Who Wants to Live Forever" is amazing due the great presence of the piano and vocals parts (the vocals are especially excellent, because the lines of Freddie Mercury aren't so easy to be sang by anyone). "Chamaleon" has the same mix between charming melodies and weight that SKID ROW shows on "Slave to the Grind" era, with very good presence of bass guitar and drums once more. And these songs are the best for a first experience on "Life", but on the second, you'll be taken by force, because it's impossible to resist to HARDLINE's music. This album is really amazing! And let's hope these Hard Rock delinquents will never stop. Because HARDLINE seems to be here to stay, and bring the house down!
