Earthless - From the West album cover

Can someone explain to many Metal/Rock fans that LED ZEPPELIN already existed on the Earth, and no one, but Robert, Jimmy and John are the only ones who can carry the heavy burden of the band's music? No, no one can give continuity to their musical work, because no one can do things as they did, and the ones who try will do just a great waste of time. And San Diego home based trio EARTHLESS is another clone trying to do so with "From the West".

Sorry, but all those bands that try to play as they will be ridiculous. And the trio is one of them, with this form of music that is the mix of Rock, Blues, Folk and other things in the same vein that LED ZEPPELIN did on their early albums (from "Led Zeppelin" to "Led Zeppelin volume IV"), and on others they try to be like JIMI HENDIX EXPERIENCE. And in a live show, it really is boring, because they lack personality in a way that is annoying. The more you hear, the more you'll be sleepy. It's just a cliché recollection, the same ones all the fans heard before time and time again.

The sound quality can be said as the best part of "From the West". The band's instrumental tunes and feeling is from a live show, done with the most organic atmosphere possible. But you can understand what they're playing clearly, but in a way that is truly like from live albums from the past (it's hard to say if any digital edition was done on this album).

But when the music starts to play, it's a problem. They really lack musical personality, and on some parts (as we can hear on "Electric Flame") the endless repetition of riffs is something disgusting and boring. They are a clone in a way that they play a version of LED ZEPPELIN's "Communication Breakdown" that is good (but not as good as the original), and we can say that this version, along with "Gifted by the Wind", "Uluru Rock" and "Acid Crusher" are the good moments of the album (but why in the blazes such long songs? It's not the 70's anymore). For those who miss the 70's (even being born after the 80's), "From the East" can be a nice album, but for those who know the past, it's just a boring waste of time.
