Back in the end of the 80's, the underground scene witnessed the birth of Splatter Death Metal, the most disgusting Metal genre of all, and it could make even the stomach of the strongest men contort of disgust to the point of puking out their inner guts. Today, the genre evolved a lot, and there are still great names playing the genre. Names of the Belgian Death Metal legists from ABORTED, and they are here with "TerrorVision" to make your disgust turn worse, but to blow our ears with their excellent musical work.

Mature and strong, the music of the quintet is really brutal and heavy, but with a charming Technical Death Metal insight in many moments, even using some subjective melodies in some points of the album. It sounds as explosive as always, but even more elegant that before. We can consider "TerrorVision" a clear evolution of what they are breeding since "Global Flatline", when the complexity and aggressive insight started to be aligned with excellent sound qualities. And be aware: they came to rip your guts, spill your blood, but offering excellent music, done with personality and bleeding with a raw and amazing energy. Kristian Kohlmannslehner was brought into the morgue once more to produce "TerrorVision" (he is working with ABORTED since the EP "Termination Redux"). And he did a great work, because the band is sounding extremely brutal and technical, but the sound quality is clean to the point you can understand what is being played by them. All is understandable, with fine distorted instrumental tunes.

All these good features on "TerrorVision" would be nothing without a strong set of songs. But as the casket opens (the disc plays, I mean), we can see that the hands of these Death Metal freaks created extreme Metal pearls as the violent and fast "TerrorVision" (a brutal and technical rhythm massacre is unleashed by bass guitar and drums) and "Farewell to the Flesh", the tempos' changes presented on "Vespertine Decay" (another fine work from bass guitar and drums, but the vocals are truly amazing on the changes of tunes), the aggressive massacre from guitars unleashed on "Visceral Despondency", the slower parts with fast drums of "Deep Red", the contrasts of brutal rhythms presented on "Altro Inferno" (pay some attention to the melodies during chorus and the sickening guitar solos), and some Thrash/Death Meta elements that permeates "The Final Absolution". But don't get the wrong idea: on this album, is hard to find a set of "best songs".

ABORTED still rules supreme as they evolve more and more, but holding ground on their musical personality, so get your copy of "TerrorVision" and enjoy the vomiting session!
