Old Uncle Marcos will repeat once more an old truth in music: you MUST be yourself, which means you CAN'T be someone else. Be yourself, for Metal's sake, and for you own sake. Trying to emulate other band's musical ways is not only a sin, but a kind of bad joke. And LIK is a great waste of time, for their album "Carnage" is a fine exhibition of what DISMEMBER did on their earlier ages.

Yes, it's just a copy of what the extinct Swedish quintet did in their earlier works, especially "Like an Even Flowing Stream", and some reminiscences of old CARNAGE (the seed of what DISMEMBER came to be), with some rhythmic changes. But it's a copy, and even a colored copy can't have the same value of the original. Sorry, but here, you won't find anything different of what is on DISMEMBER's albums. The sound quality is clear, but the whole sound concept just another form of copy: it really reminds a lot the same used by ENTOMBED on "Left Hand Path" and DISMEMBER (on the same album I named above), with some clear insight here and there. But isn't this a loss of time?

Of course some good melodies appear on "Rid You of Your Flesh" and on "Celebration of the Twisted" (their best songs), the raw mix of Death Metal and Hardcore on "Dr. Duschanka", the hooking energy shown on "Death Cult", and the bitter tempos of "The Deranged" show that these guys have something to offer, but they need to left aside DISMEMBER's albums when they start to write songs, and to show who they really are. For now, this album for those who think that they can be "Old School" Metallians by wearing patches and black shirts. For those who know, "Carnage" is a great loss of time.
