Animal Drive - Bite! album cover

Since Thrash Metal came back from the dead, after passing all the 90's in its earlier grave (the exception was PANTERA), a lot of good names arose, fusing the energy of Thrash Metal with Groove Metal influences (for the despair of the puritan fans of the genre). Names as ANIMAL DRIVE are here to prove that the genre still has a lot to offer, as "Bite!" is an amazing album! Although they call themselves a Heavy Metal/Hard Rock band, they play a mix of Groove Metal influences with the melodic approach of US Thrash Metal School, and it works perfectly, in a very personal and modern way. The songs are really good, presenting fine musical arrangements, and they use a very good technical level and have a perfect match between band's instrumental parts with vocals tunes. All is working great, so be prepared!

If you are asking about the level of the sound quality, I just can say that it is near perfection. The balance between sound clarity, aggressiveness and weight is excellent, using very good instrumental tunes, all working in a way that we can understand their modern and great melodies. All the songs are really excellent, but you'll have a great time enjoying the fine oppressive groove that can be heard on "Goddamn Marathon" (excellent guitars, indeed) and on "Tower of Lies (I Walk Alone)" (what a great rhythmic work is presented here), the charming melodies of "Had Enough" (what excellent vocals, and the instrumental parts show clearly a great influence from US Metal Old School), the introspective harmonies shown on "Hands of Time", the greasy tempos and perfect melodic lines of "Time Machine" and "Fade Away", and the excellent arrangements show on "Deliver Me". Of course you all can discuss their musical style as long as you want, but I have to state a thing: Hear it, buy it, or do anything, but don't leave the opportunity of knowing this excellent band! ANIMAL DRIVE kills, and it really bites!
