Hi Metal-Temple, today I'm bringing to you "The Deathcantation" by NEMECIC. This small Death Metal band from Finland released a solid debut album after releasing a few EP and singles over the year. They had a hiatus for 5 years between 2012 and 2017, but nothing as deterred them from finally giving us their first full-length album.

The band doesn't take it's time to introduce their fast and explosive tempo right at the start with "Locomotive Tomb". The combination of Death and Trash Metal gives us a relentless beat with deep and melodic vocals. As with "Smoke Electric", which follows the same tempo, the intricate structure of the songs gives us a wave of adrenaline.

The tempo of this album is already set to high octane when we get to "Mercury Vortex Ritual", which raises the bar even higher. With a massive drum track on top of some gripping guitar riffs, this piece will not leave you indifferent.

By all means, "Fields of Glass" is not considered a slow song, but after what we've tasted so far in this album, it does feel like it is. It is a good stepping stone however for "Void", which is probably the slowest song of the album. Taking the tempo down a notch, NEMECIC delivers us an emotional but riff heavy melody with a mix of harsh and clean vocals.

The best guitar moments of the album come in "Apotheosis" around the 3:30 mark. We are treated to an intricate dance of guitar and drum that gave me goose bumps. "The Great Dissonance" is mostly a 4 minute long guitar solo, with no vocals except some back vocals at a few chosen moments. The placement of this piece is perfect in a high tempo album like this one. It doesn't break the momentum of the album while giving you a moment to breath.

"Ouroboros" and "Clockwork" finishes the album in beauty with, yet again, Henry's deep vocal prowess and massive guitar solo thrown around the songs. "Clockwork" also includes some Progressive aspect with a definitive evolution of the music throughout the 7 minute long piece. Slow to fast pace with harsh and clean vocals. This song has it all.

I was really taken away with "The Deathcantation" by NEMECIC. It looked like a long and arduous road to get to this point for them, but it paid off in the end with a memorable debut album. Nothing seems out of place, the whole album was written as if they were veterans. The pace of the album has been just right. I plan on keeping an eye on this band for sure.
