Radiation
Impure Wilhelmina
I was having a very good day and in an excellent mood before coming to hear this album...
Yes, IMPURE WILHEMINA is a really boring experience for our ears, even if you are a fan from those posts-something that are forced down on our throats every single day. Their sixth album, "Radiation" is a fine definition for a boring album. This is a mix between that boring alternative music that some love with some Metal elements and a lot of melancholy. It's a sad album, with that disgusting feeling that "we are sad about life and will commit suicide at any moment". Yes, they have some elegant insight in some parts of the songs, but it is really boring, like some post-Black Metal or post-the fuck you want (it seems that some idiot thinks that the prefix "post" will fool someone). Boring, lacking in energy and pretentious, that's how "Radiation" sound to me.
The sound quality is excellent. Everything is sounding clear and with good tunes, everything is on its due places on their musical work. We can say that Serge Morattel on the recording and Raphaël Bovey on the mix and mastering did their works in the best way they could. Even the artwork created by Nicolas Todeschini and Vincent Chanal is truly good. But in the end, I still question why in the blazes of the deepest pits of Hell someone would lost time and money with such form of music.
Their ten songs are a martyrdom of tedious form of music. Their songs are filled with boring melodies, pretentious vocals and that disgusting feeling that says "mommy, I want to be a revolutionary on music". No, you aren't revolutionaries, just childish boring form of music. Even ANATHEMA on the most tedious moments is better than this album. Sorry to the musicians and fans of IMPURE WILHELMINA, but even the good ideas show on songs as "Sacred Fire", "Child", "We Need a New Sun" (I'll throw myself into one if I ever have to hear such boring song again), "Bones and Heart", "Murderers" and "Race with You" can't save the album. It was a loss since the beginning! I'll have to hear some music to breathe life and joy into my heart again, because "Radiation" is a boring melancholic experience.
