REPULSIVE VISION have finally broken 5 years of silence following their 2012 EP entitled "Severed Alive" (which was their sole release) to present their long awaited debut full-length album "Look Past the Gore and See the Art". The record was released through Mighty Music on March 3rd, 2017, and this has some massive art and 13 brutal Death Metal tracks.

Although their first effort of an EP consisted of only 6 tracks, they made sure to double that this time, and I am about to give you a small taste of some the album's highlights. "Intrepulsion" is the first thing you have to deal with; it is an intro that leads "Repulsive Vision". A tracks that's named after the band should be good, right? Well, I admit it is. Following a fade in there are light screams, strong guitar riffs, massive drums and heavily sped up thrash-y atmosphere. The vocals throughout the album are okay and the riffs too, although I wasn't too impressed. As a side-note, the band really seems to be into this whole anti-politics and anti-censorship thing, which is good.

"Premature Burial" is another track that is heavily influenced by Thrash Metal; the overall atmosphere is kind of dipped into that whole playing style whilst the vocals are a bit heavier, mostly remaining scream based, but still fitting in perfectly. "Nematocyst" is a bit of a slower song, judging from the riff work, but the vocals are still a bit dull and uncreative. "Half Starved Half Killed" is a bit better; it's groovy, extreme and well, it's okay.

Don't get me wrong for hating, I am into the genre, but REPULSIVE VISION should work a bit more on their songwriting. I have no doubt that they are fine musicians, but still, all their songs sound almost the same; and lack that punch that they desperately would need. This came from the heart. Still, if any of you guys have any interest in checking them out, have no fear to do so.
