Ok, again another reissue of a band from the past. One more, just one more, and my balls are really aching to death due the same question: why in the blazes waste time and money on a band that time devoured without mercy? That's my question about HORSE's "For Twisted Minds Only" new release.

Ok, I understand that some guys and girls love to hear old music. I love too, but I already know bands as COVEN and BLACK WIDOW, with this same style and insight: Occult Rock, that Hard Rock/Progressive Rock with occult lyrics. Sorry, but this kind of sound is really moldy, and nothing outstanding that would justify a new release. The sound quality is that same one you could expect from an old album: moldy. And it doesn't seem to have being treated with a remastering. So, it is truly near from the original recording, raw and truly moldy. But for those who love this kind of sound, it will fit perfectly.

The original release has ten songs. The songs, as I wrote above, are just that mix between Hard Rock and Progressive Rock from those days when Heavy Metal was still arising from its cradle. Songs as "See the People Creeping Round" (a tender and melodic song, with some tunes from Folk Rock in some parts), the bluesy sweet feeling of "And I Have Loved You", the heavy harmonies heard on "Lost Control", the weight and psychedelic atmosphere of "To Greet the Sun" (a strange habit that graduation students of history in Brazil love, instead of attending to their classes), the short "Gypsy Queen", and introspective moments of "Step Out of Line" can be said as their finest moments of the album, if you can accept to live with that feeling that "I already heard that before and somewhere". And there are six bonus songs on this new release: "Autumn", "Winchester Town/Dreams Turn to Ashes", "Born to be Wild" (no, it's not a version for STEPPENWOLF's song, please), "Picture of Innocence", "She Brings Peace" and "Anthems to the Sea". They follow the same trend of the album, and are a good justification to buy this new version.

I must say it again: I don't understand the reason for such reissue, but as it is here, if you're a fan, you'll love this album.
