When we speak about the Finland Metal/Rock scene, of course a flood of names come to our minds, due the prevalence of excellent bands coming from those lands. But there are newer ones coming and storming our minds and hearts with excellent forms of music. And obviously, our hearts must have a space for the quintet KING COMPANY, that comes with their excellent album "One for the Road". It's a mix of old and good Hard Rock from the end of the 70s with the raw energy from Rock'n'Roll and some touches of AOR. In some moments, they'll sound to our ears as bands like CHROME DIVISION (but not so raw and nasty), but keeping the melodies on an easy and tender way. It's truly accessible and excellent from the beginning to the end.

The sound production was done in a way that their songs gain a great dose of energy. It is not moldy (because, as I said above, they have a 70s feeling on their songs), but clean and modern. And by the way, the due amount of weight is present as well. Musically, they show an excellent work, with a care touch in every song, but without losing the sense of spontaneity their music needs. They show their potential on songs as the energetic and catchy "One for the Road" (what lovely tempos and great work from guitars), the bluesy scent on "Shining" (the vocals are excellent), nasty feeling on the melodies of "Coming Back to Life", the charming introspective elements on "No Man's Land", the very good work of guitars and keyboards on "Cast Away", the Rock'n'Roll weight essence of "Desire" (very good work from bass guitar and drums), and the slow paced tempos of "One Heart". It's just a lovely album.
