Since the end of the first decade of our millennium, a great number of bands following the easy and hooking way of Rock'n'Roll in the same vein of AC/DC and MOTORHEAD, bleeding raw energy with hooking music, are appearing throughout the world. Yes, and names as ZOMBEERS and VELHAS VIRGENS on Brazil, CHROME DIVISION on Norway are doing nasty and melodic music, but with a sharp aggressive side. But on the work of the Italian quartet TEARS FROM VENERE, we see the style by another point of view, as their album "Temporary Lives" is here to proof.

Being more melodic and musically accessible than all the bands named above, they have a set of extremely hooking songs, with fine melodies, what make sound a bit Pop for some fans of the aggressive side of this style. But these Italian guys have guts, and their work is really good, showing fine melodic and clean vocals, good guitar arrangements, and a solid a good rhythmic kitchen. And besides their music is nothing new at all, it's good.

The production was done in a good way, because the sound quality is very good, and fits perfectly on what the quartet needs. It's clean and tender when they need it to be in this way, but it really fits very well on the moments when some of the band's Punk Rock influences appear. It's not perfect, but it's truly good.

The best ones from "Temporary Lives" are the following: the energetic "Roullete" with its charming vocals and riffs, along with the Punk Rock essence, and the same goes for "Temporary Lives" (again very good riffs, along with a good work from bass guitar and drums); the hooking chorus presented on "My Name is V"; the electric accessibility of "Raise Your Voice" (the chorus is fine, but these backing vocals could be better, because they need more energy); and the abrasive and heavy tempos of "Hey God", that sounds modern and aggressive, without leaving aside their commercial accessibility aside, and this same aggressiveness can be found o "Fame & Glory".

TEARS FROM VENICE is a good band, a promise for the future, and "Temporary Lives" is a good album to hear on a night of games, booze and without worries.<
