Black Temple - It All Ends album cover

Since Rock'n'Roll arose on the 50s, power trios became a clear and strong musical manifestation. We can remember from some great names as THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE, CREAM, and BLUE CHEER, the three being the forefathers of Heavy Metal as we know. Then, RUSH and MOTORHEAD appeared, and later, ANGELWITCH, VENOM, EXCITER, HEALLHAMMER, CELTIC FROST, SODOM, KREATOR (that started as a trio), DESTRUCTION and others, and by now, KAMALA from Brazil and many others bands are still using this kind of line up. It is a radiation on Metal and Rock, so it's not a surprise to see a good work done by the Swedish band BLACK TEMPLE on their album, "It All Ends".

They label their work as "Noise Hard Rock", and this is a good definition for their musical work: it's truly noisy and dirty as those bands from Seattle music from the 90s as ALICE IN CHAINS and SOUNDGARDEN, but with a very good and catching musicality. No, it's not as dirty as many can think, but with good melodies and a hooking music, with very good and balanced doses of musical accessibility, aggressiveness and weight. So, their songs are extremely good. But besides the label, their sound quality is very good, using a clear sounding that flows easily from our speakers. But even being clear, they like to have bits of a nasty and more organic sound, so be prepared.

They are pretty good in many aspects, and some of their songs are really nice, so we can pick the melodic and harsh "Acid Rain", the abrasive and hooking "Difficult Journey" (hear the distorted bass guitar roaring throughout the song, along with the screamed and raw vocals), and the accessible "100 Years" as their best moments (very good riffs and drums).

Fine band, and the best of them is to come on a near future.
