World In Decay
Fallen Angels

Usually 3rd albums are supposed to decide what best the band can bring out in all of their career, and with Seattle, Washington based Thrashers FALLEN ANGELS I really do hope the same as their release their new full length "World In Decay" this August 4th.
Ever felt like you were in a fast moving survival video game where your only control is the moment of the protagonist? I just felt that way listening to the 1st song here, "The Hammers Blow Master". "Nightmare Master" brings in some new riffs keeping the listener interested. Well, describing the music, it's fast paced Thrash Metal which is far different from the usual Traditional Thrash that I am used to so very often. The sound reminds me a bit of WARBRINGER due to its chugging and fast paced nature of both the guitars and the drums. The vocals by Brad Kennaugh is more on the lines of traditional Thrash Metal screaming style which seems to work just fine for me. The vocals really hit you here because the lyrics are clear and makes you absorb the themes dealt here like Oppression, War, Death etc. "Leading The Blind" gives a breath of fresh air to the album as there is a touch of SEPULTURA style felt here due to the chaotic thick guitar sound and trying to make it sound like an anthem though it doesn't quite achieve that. The boys give you a serious lesson in riff making in "Fire at Eden's Gate" as they blast some insane riffs and some solos with the backing vocals doing a great job at what they are supposed to do. The solos in "Mortis Ex Machina" made me air guitar after ages! The album ends with a rather boring guitar solo instrumental in "Untitled" which could have been avoided.
More than any individual riff or a song, the strength of this album lies in the fact that it really does offer something new to the listener and has what it takes to impress the seasoned Thrash Metal fan and more. A wonderful 3rd album to have in your discography.
