Back To F*** You Up

The second album is something that can make the greater difference when you're dealing with a band. Yes, we can say that when a band releases their second work, it's a matter of "do or die", no turning back, and no turn at all. And when you have some recognized musicians from previous band, this truth can become a true and great trial. But when you have guys who played in bands like SHAMAN, ANGRA, HANGAR, and that are on a band like PRIMAL FEAR, the trials become motivations to overcome all that can stand in their way. This is the case of Brazilian quintet NOTURNALL, a true dream team that comes again with "Back to F*** You Up", their second album. No round bars, they are back to shred your ears with their aggressive and modern music, but with a strong melodic sense and a technique that only a few can handle. Thiago Bianchi on vocals is one of the great singers of Brazil, using aggressive tunes and some melodic ones with mastery; Léo Mancini is a great guitarist, using and abusing of his technique and feeling on powerful and strong riffs, as well in melodic solos; Juninho "Junior" Carelli is a gifted and fine keyboardist, knowing what to do and when to do, without be exaggerated or doing less than the necessary; Fernando Quesada is a very fine bassist, using his heavy and abrasive technique to create a heavy and technical rhythmic session along Aquiles Priester, PRIMAL FEAR's drummer and one of the best on this instrument in Brazil, owner of a very particular technique. And all of this is mixed to create perfect songs, having technique and weight in a perfect equilibrium. The sound quality is perfect once more. Being recorded, mixed and mastered on Fusão Studios (São Paulo), the result couldn't be better. It's clear to the point you can understand each musical instrument with no trouble at all, but it's heavy and abrasive to cause damage to the ears of people not used to Metal.
Of course, "Back To F*** You Up" is a perfect album from its beginning to the very end. But we can point as the best songs the heavy and hooky "Back To F*** You Up" (with a fine work on vocals, with Thiago using very good tunes, from aggressive to more melodic ones), "Fight the System" with its abrasive groove touches (especially on the moments with Thiago singing in Portuguese) along with Progressive elements and great riffs and solos by Léo; the more technical insight seen on "Industry Of Fear", where Fernando and Aquiles show a very good technique on broken tempos, along with very good experiments done by Juninho on his keyboards; the introspective and accessible "This Is Life" (a more sentimental song, with presence of very good arrangements on acoustic guitars and vocals), and "Rise Now!" (another melodic and accessible song, but now, heavier and aggressive, with a great exhibition by Léo and Aquiles).
The trial was given, they accepted and overcame it once more. "Back To F*** You Up" is another masterpiece done by NOTURNALL, and it gives them the necessary credentials for becoming one of the greater bands of the style in the world.
