This is a great album for the Doom lovers, really amazing, at last a true Epic Doom band, CRYPT SERMON an American band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania formed sometime in 2011 but only becoming a full band in 2012 and I am glad they did it!!! In 2013 a Demo was released, entitled "MMXIII" with three songs "Temple Doors", "Belly Of The Whale". "Whore Of Babylon" great Demo to begin with, I do Recommend it and the doors were really opened to much more to follow and it did indeed and now a full length album fresh "Out Of The Garden" is here!
Influenced by CANDLEMASS, SOLITUDE and AETERNUS the result couldn't be better, pure intensity and deep feelings, great musicians playing from the depths of their souls. "Temple Doors" are opened widely and Epic Doom arises full power ahead, melodic and the elements come together and we as the "Heavy Riders" enjoy the trip to its full, excellent guitars and Brooks Wilson vocals are insanely good and in this cruel world CRYPT SERMON are doing a fantastic job.
Epic Doom fans always felt a bit uneasy regarding the Doom bands being a bit unstable in the scene and at times losing ground to bands more extreme but now they can put a smile on their faces because Epic Doom is alive and well, "Byzantium" takes you into a trip to the dark side, tripping solos and great harmonies and chorus and "The Will Of The Ancient Call" will prevail, a very heavy ballad into the unknown, excellent bass lines, heavy and slow drumming, I feel the energy filling the room and taking me back to the 80s, Doom has always been around and its always will for sure, "Into The Holy Of Holies" has awesome arrangements and the music just flows like a waterfall and then blasting against the rocks, perfect stuff really, great music to the ears and it sounds very modern also, "The Master's Bouquet" is some more excellent Doom, chilling up my spine, definitely CANDLEMASS influences, you hear it quite clearly, I love it and the chorus is just too much and the angels are falling from the sky.
The curtains are brought down with "Out Of The Garden" and you are left asking for more, feeling bewitched and blessed, awesome rhythms with lots of variations and soul touching solos, a truly masterpiece delivered with such precision and emotions, lovers of Epic Doom go out there and get this album, you will not regret it!
The production is very, very good sounding, clear as water and the art cover is also very, very cool, it speaks for itself.
