Incite - Up In Hell album cover

Let's say you're looking for a metal band with a dominating, heavy sound. One that brings the energy without relying on gimmicks, a no-holds barred approach to songwriting, that doesn't sacrifice musical style for a selling point, and without those generic indistinguishable vocals. If you want to take a listen to INCITE's new album "Up In Hell", then you're definitely in for a treat.

Though they came together in 2004, their first EP, "Divided We Fall" wasn't published until 2007. Since then, they've maintained a very direct avenue with their fundamentals as a band. This latest album is no exception.

Garnering the admiration of and touring with bands such as CHIMAIRA, DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, and SOULFLY, they have made a formidable impact in the world of Metal. And for good reason too, as it's easy to enjoy the grooves and up-tempo riffs they have written up to this point. This is no-frills Metal and doesn't imagine itself to be anything but what it is. Straight-up, hardcore, in-your-face, pure power.

I think very highly of this album because it features characteristics of several Metal songwriting staples. I also found myself really impressed by the KREATOR-esque vocals of Richie C. Also, having mentioned a similar band earlier, fans of CHIMAIRA should love the angle of this album, as the two have a lot in common, and some definite killer tracks. Having a guest to perform on a track is also quite welcomed, as "Rightful Spot" features Liam Cormier of CANCER BATS.

I can't say enough good things about this release because it possesses such a raw, to-the-bone Metal sound. Another one that I would love to hear performed live and a definite must-have for all INCITE fans.
